We had a welcome when we walked past the pub but it was all in good humour.

I did get a "South London, w*nk, w*nk, w*nk" but if anything, my little brother found this hilarious not offensive and when i said "And good afternoon to you too..." they didn't react as if they were out for any trouble, just on a wind up. No doubt they cross the line occasionally but when it's Bananaman abusing you it loses something As for the game though, epic for the fan, scrappy for the neutral. A typical Sutton 08/09 season game, there were moments of genius (the passing and movement leading up to and around the period of Phillips excellent goal) and at the same time moments where you'd be forgiven for thinking that we'd no idea how to play football (the stupid goal conceded, a few misplaced passes) put considering the pressure to win to validate the season, understandable. 100% effort again (i'm sure if he'd been told he had to McCallum would still be out there running now) and another big win in a big, big game. One defeat at home all season too Got back from a party at 6:30am still very pleased and quite drunk. Happy days

We drove up from Salisbury for the game yesterday and a fine time was had by all. It was excellent stuff, if not a game for the purist! I thought we looked by far more dangerous when we got the ball down and played it wide but I can understand the reason for trying to put pressure on Hornchurch with early balls. Both sets of fans were good. I thought the Hornchurch contingetnt would be more boisterous having driven past the Plough but in fairness they took defeat with grace. I haven't seen Staines but everybody on here seems to think they are a very good side. The lads can only give it a real go and see what happens. I'm working away next week in the Midlands and I am now desparately trying to think up plans that will let me be in Staines on a Tuesday night, and not many people have ever said that! My lad is also tying to convince his mum that if I can get there he can meet me. Mrs Wiltshire does not agree that either of us will make it (yet).
