Lewes FC on edge of the abyss If you think the situation at AFCHx is bad take a look at this: therooks.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=lewesfc&action=display&thread=4103&page=1The club have no commercial manager and no chairman, no money to pay creditors or even their contracted players for next season. Debts estimated at 360k and from my copy of the Sussex Express the main sponsor has walked away. They appear to have left Administration too late with their decision not to do so back in March as sealing their fate with 2 winding up orders against them. Its looks almost certain that they will be kicked out of the Conference setup at their meeting on 13th June? |

Without sounding nasty, a predictable end to a story which should never have happened. Unless there is an Abramhovic style sugar daddy, all clubs going down the "lets throw lots of money" route will end up like this.

Northwich Victoria successfully appealed against being barred from Conf. South next season. They'll instead start it with a 10-point penalty.

This is a bit of a theme now, Weymouth join Lewes and AFCH on the brink after all being promised salvation which has just not materialised. I think that hints are coming from Salisbury too that they could be next on the list with their takeover hanging in the balance (would you buy them in this climate?) : news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/salisbury/8092886.stmMaybe Prudence is coming home and those that have lived within their means may benefit from all this? |

Those of us who had nowt better to do but to go to their post season fans meeting and ask awkward questions about sustaining promotion were expecting the Lewes thing to happen this summer.
Weymuff could probably set up a support group for all the people who pumped £1000's into them for nowt.
