I liked Phil, especially after he told me and the mrs how to get into Farnham's ground a few years back in the SSC.
This is where I find out it wasn't Phil in goal that game!

Some of the Sutton faithful spent their Saturday lounging about on Brighton beach, taking in the sun, eating ice cream and watching fat men fall in the sea before realising we were next to a Brentwood town fan (!) I found him. I mention this because, on the same afternoon, I also found an Eastbourne Borough fan hiding in an ice-cream parlour ;D

Here's a quote from the NLP report: Richard Jolly, the free-scoring frontman and usual spot kick king, had an attack of nerves and handed the ball instead to sub Junior Kadi. Staines keeper Louis Wells was equal to it... ;D ;D Yes Mark; but you can't always believe everything you read inthe NLP; Jolly is quoted in this week's local rag: " Jolly was also eager to clear up the rumours that have swirled since Junior Kadi missed the fateful spot-kick as Carshalton were denied 1-0 by Staines Town in the Ryman Premier play-off final a fortnight ago. Some press reports suggested Jolly, the Robins’ regular penalty-taker, has ducked the challenge - a claim that rankles the man himself. Jolly added: “I read in some papers that I had bottled it, and I was pretty angry about that. “Basically when Charlie Ide went down I thought ‘here we go, I can win this’. “But Junior Kadi grabbed the ball and said ‘I want this’. “I looked at him and thought ‘ok then’, as I thought he would score and I didn’t really want to start a fight on the pitch with a teammate. “But to say I bottled it is ridiculous - I had scored over 30 goals in the season so why would I turn down a chance from 12 yards with just the keeper to beat?”

Yes if i'm honest that does sound much more understandable than the NLP even if it is from the local rag!

Didn't have the bottle to go "foo off Kadi, i'm the penalty taker" though...

Resorting to such language would have seen him having to spend extra time by the corner flag facing the crowd with PD shouting "No turning round, Jolly" every few minutes.

lol!
Of course, strict club policies and all that. He'd have been better off chucking a pint over him.
