I'm a Spurs fan and recognise a few players some who have played in the first team friendlies and the likes of Jansson, Dervite, Obika, Rose have all had first team experience or played with the first team in this seasons build up.

I would say there is an outside chance of 1 or 2 first teamers coming down especially if there are anymore new signings.

At the end of the day the fact is fans are paying good money expecting to see a Spurs reserve team with maybe one or two first team players and not an acadamy team of youngsters.

Or has it been advertised as a Spurs XI, which consists of reserve team players from last season ( there is no reserve team this year) and academy players.

Obika played in Europe for Spurs.
Jansson IIRC played in the league or cup.
Dervitte played in the CC two seasons ago before injury.
Rose made the bench last season.

So what are you paying for?

I knew my post would be a let down for a few, but the trouble is that Spurs said they were sending their XI side managed by Clive Allen all along and nothing else. Spurs have a few injury problems and may decide to play a few for fitness reasons, they have changed their wording to 'part of our season's preparations' so maybe. But at the end of the day they can play matches against themselves behind closed doors if they like, so don't hold your breath.

The arrangement we have with Spurs is that they will be giving us an idea on Monday of the likely make-up of the squad they will be sending, so we will let people know then if there are any names of interest.

Delboy, it has always been advertised as an XI. What you presume of that is down to you. Most people would guess reserve, youth + maybe a few first team fringe players. Spurs play on Sunday, so we can speculate further after that. Either way, people are paying to watch Sutton at the same cost as other Sutton games. It's what being a supporter is about.

Christ Delboy, what do you expect 4 days from the first Premier League Sat of the season? As stated above it has always been advertised an XI.

For some fans of Prem sides the nearest they ever get to seeing their chosen club is these types of matches.

Personally, I would be paying good money to watch Sutton not the visitors.

My point is the acadamy team is a far cry from a Spurs reserve team which is what they apparantly fielded at Crawley.Hopefully we will get a decent crowd in .
