We all know you get some rubbish played at this level. It seems you're going to the games with unreasonable expectations based on what you have seen in the past. Why do you bother going? I go when I can but I know it's not going to be very good quality and it's more about supporting my local side at more affordable prices than paying the ridiculous money people are paying to watch higher level football.
I, along with most others on here no doubt wonder, a) why you want to go in the first place, b) why wish to share your happy thoughts with supporters of the club (to deliberately antagonise?) and c) how you'd be more comfortable being mugged in the street!!
£10 is not a lot of money these days. It's what you'd pay to go to the cinema. I pay that weekly to 'play' football and cricket depending on the season. The club have expenses to meet that don't equate to your 1960's/70's/80's (delete as appropriate) outlook on prices. I used to pay 20p to go the school on the bus, penny sweets were a penny or two as a kid.
Having said that I agree with most of what you say about the quality on display - it's not good and hasn't been for a number of years. Just go with your eyes wide open and look for the odd bit of quality in the games you do attend (if you go back on your gut reaction of not attending again based on last night's game).
Lastly did you expect luxury seats for a pound in a stand built decades ago? Why pay for the program if you don't like the price? The teams are usually (I think) read out.
I hope you find something else in life (honestly) to fill the void left by football.

I don't go to the cinema any more, preferring to wait for films on TV.There are too many idiots talking rubbish on mobile phones and munching sweets for my liking.

Surely one of the great universal truths of football is that there ARE crap matches sometimes, where your team doesn't play well and you come away feeling frustrated? But that's part of the enjoyment, and you take the rough with the smooth. I
f your team played brilliantly every week and smashed the opposition 10-0, there'd be nothing to aim for and nothing to get excited about.

I saw Sutton win 10 - 0 once,or a score very close to that, someone in here will know.I think it was against Clapton ??

I think we are all agreed it was not the greatest of games (and Sutton's performance in the first half was woeful) but as somebody who likes their pint half full not empty, there were positives in the second half performance.
Being honest, if I wanted to see international quality football, I think I would have left my tenner in my wallet so don't get too down about it Billy. All in all, £10 isnt bad value and it beats sitting indoors with the missus watching Eastenders.

Correct Billy, it was Clapton and the score was 11-1. The great Sid Cann side of the mid 60s. Just before my time, mind ! :-) We repeated that in the early 80s, 11-1 v Leatherhead when Mick Joyce scored 9 goals.
To be fair, I think at times in the second half we did play some realy good, exciting football. Hopefully a sign of things to come. This team is 4 games old, I know what Dos is trying to achieve and he admits it might not all come together in on ecampaign but the aim of having a young side is for it to grow as a unit.
That's how the sides of the past were able to win 11-1, those teams evolved but retained a nucleus of players.

One point from all this raises the question,is Steve Mckimm not fit enough to play 90 minutes now as it was quite obvious at Hendon that our midfield was inadequate. To start without him last night, with Cobbs injured was rather odd to say the least. Next match it would be rather good if we started playing the same way as we started the second half last night!

Could only manage to get there for the second half last night and from what I saw I thought we played really well - dominating in large periods - how we lost i'll never know...Phillips is going to be a key player for us this season - first touch is mint and has bags of skill - not to mention his finish last night which was quality. So we are 8th at the moment on 6 points after 4 games? Need to get back on track against Hornchurch and wont they be up for it after last season
