Disappointed with the result after playing dome good stuff in the second half. I thought we missed Kez last night but I also think we are missing Collins. Hopefully in time Goodlife will develop a solid partnership with Kez but i think we lack pace down the middle. Would also like to see us play with wingers on a more regular basis. Also Dundas' is stength is missed in the midfield.

I don't go to the cinema any more, preferring to wait for films on TV.There are too many idiots talking rubbish on mobile phones and munching sweets for my liking. You're single aren't you? Oh my Gawd, are you "one of them"...........i have been married since 1973,have two sons,31 and 28 and became a grandfather (hooray) on 6th September 2008.

Correct Billy, it was Clapton and the score was 11-1. The great Sid Cann side of the mid 60s. Just before my time, mind ! :-) We repeated that in the early 80s, 11-1 v Leatherhead when Mick Joyce scored 9 goals. To be fair, I think at times in the second half we did play some realy good, exciting football. Hopefully a sign of things to come. This team is 4 games old, I know what Dos is trying to achieve and he admits it might not all come together in on ecampaign but the aim of having a young side is for it to grow as a unit. Thanks.I think the chairman was Peter Molloy ? Father of a school team mate of mine,Terry. I played for Surrey schoolboys and was coached by a few of that team.Ted Powell,Keith Blunt,Larry Pritchard and a wonderful gentleman called Dario Gradi. That's how the sides of the past were able to win 11-1, those teams evolved but retained a nucleus of players.

It would still have been Andrew Letts then, I don't think Peter took over as Chairman until the early 1970s. Of course his son Terry went on to become Chairman of Banstead Athletic, although he did play a few games for us on the wing sometime around 1972.

Thanks again.I would have sworn his Dad was Chairman while we were still at school.I left there in 1970.

Glad to see you seem to have cheered up a bit today Billy. Why not come along on Saturday, give your team another chance? It’s going to be a nice day, it’s a bank holiday, and I'm sure that the boys will be determined to put in a stellar performance to make up for Tuesday.

I would but unfortunately my Wife has talked me in to going on a cruise and we depart from Southampton on Saturday.
I expect my next appearance will be against Dartford on 22nd September, and i hope to see at least two of the eight new players (to me) from Tuesday's game, still at the club.

I'm sure they will be. There was a huge overhaul of the squad during the summer, and it's certainly taken me a little while to get used to who's who, but I can see things starting to take shape.
Have a good time nonetheless and make sure you find the internet cafe on the ship so that you can keep up with scores while you're away.

Talking of being coached.I had the great Charlie Vaughan instructing me at football.
Add to that Harry Carpenter often took me to an infants school in his car.

His son Derek went to my school,he was a few years older than me and played for Chelsea.I think he later played for Kingstonian but i lost track of him. Charlie was involved in the youth setup at Millwall amongst other things.
