Hello Sutton Fans! I hope you don't mind me posting on your fans forum. Although I have lived in Sutton Common for the last 30 years I am a Dovorian, and of course a Dover Supporter for more years than I can remember. I have often spoken to one of your regular supporters and as soon as Alan left Dover I told him that he was the player Sutton should sign to help them get promotion. Well, I have now heard that Alan Pouton has joined Sutton! I do hope that this is true. What a superb player. For the last two seasons he was our play maker and most influential player. I know that some of you may say that he has bad knees but he is very fit and managed to play about two thirds of our games last season. He is not just influencial on the field though as he encouraged all our young players at Dover to play the the way the game should be played. Along the ground. He plays deep in mid-field and splays the ball around with amazing 30 to 40 yard passes as well as being able to plat exquisite close passes. If you play a passing game he will be a fantastic player for you. He is a leader and a tremendous voice in the dressing room also. If Alan had stayed at Dover I was going to sponsor him this year.
Alan is a really nice person with true supporters also. I miss the footballing conversations I used to have with him. So now, if Alan has really joined you I will certainly come to some of your games to give him support and have the occasional chat with him.
Good Luck for this season Sutton! Come and join Dover where you really belong!
Martin Shaw.

We don't mind at all. Did you move to Sutton Common after filming the Professionals If he is still as you say, he'd fit in perfectly with Dos's plans. I have no idea if he has signed for us (He certainly didn't play today), but we as supporters will always welcome the best players we can get! Hope to see you down the lane soon!

There was a rumour recently, but nothing confirmed as far as I know. However, I'm sure we'd welcome an experienced head in the centre of the park, a role David Hughes filled with distinction last year.

7 day approach rule - wait until tomorrow I suspect. Yep all done and dusted, announced on official site now! You just can't go saying a player has joined us even if its 100% nailed on during the period, the teams they come from tend to get the hump, but he is here now

If we were a club like Chelsea I would agree but sometimes it is necessary to delete things that should not be said. I removed one small one line post on this thread and the person was quite happy for me to do it, if you did not see it I will PM you and tell you what it was.

I was happy to let it go in the best interests of the club.
