Thank you, Vern, for that info, but we do prefer promoting our own food outlets, at the Club, which also has, not only 'nice chips', but an abundance of other 'nice' food and also, beer, if you were thinking of recommending the 'Plough', as well! It's all very well trying to promote your own grub and booze at your esteemed ground at Sutton but someone should surely be positive to think of openning the damn place!!! There were literally 'dozens' of Dartford fans banging on your doors trying to wake some bugger up at 6.45 tonight only to be forced across the road to get fed and watered. Someone wants a kick up the arse my friend. Just a little more thought and you might get a few bob in the tills next time round eh!!!!

I'd eat at Dartford if they have improved on their 'hot dog in a packet' cuisine! At least they might be open to receive you at a realistic hour rather than keeping the damn doors locked!!!

You should have just walked round to the bar, it opens about 6. The food is available from there not long after as well.

Moving on from the food (trying NOT to mention I had to wait 20 minutes for a burger!).
I can't remember when i've felt less disheartened on the back of a 3-0 home defeat in 22 years following Sutton - the first half we matched them totally and cancelled them out - both teams hitting the bar.
2nd half we ran out of steam whilst Dartford didnt. Their first goal came from a throw in, and was well taken, the 2nd, a Billy Hawes own goal was just bad luck, and the 3rd could have possibly not crossed the line (I was too far away to make that decision, but it did look for a second that the lino was the only one who did!).
I can see why Dartford are top, the are a big side, very fast and have one of the best back 4s I've seen at this level. A defeat for us was the right score tonight, but i think a 3-0 score didn't do us justice on how we played.
A comment on Dartford was they were quite a dirty side - how their no8 got away with a yellow for lumping Cobbs with a right hook and how their no2 got away scott free by grabbing Payne around the waste and lifting him up just goes to show another example of the woeful standard of reffing at this level. But Dartford are by far a good enough side not to have to resort to those tactics.
In summary, we've played a lot worse than tonight and won - if we play anything close to that on Saturday in the FA Cup, Uxbridge are in for a hiding and a half!

I don't usually disagree with Andy I don't feel disheartened but I do feel that despite the scoreline we produced a fine performance overall for 56 mins there was nothing between the sides we may even of been on top. We were undid yet again by a bread and butter ball into the box, but hit back with a perfectly good equaliser ruled out for offside against the wrong player. The most fortunate of goals put them 2 up when Billy under no pressure scored for them to put the game beyond our reach, it became stretched and even the 3rd goal was iffy? It should of been 1-1 with Dartford down to 10 men with 30mins left to play but fate transpired against us, just about everything went for them, no 8 should of gone as Should No2 for what was no better then common assault on Stefan.
I agree that Dartford have a excellent back for but I don't rate their forward play, they just launch it and were really very fortunate to walk away with a 3-0 win. One Dartford fan said we were mugged as I was leaving and my 15yr old still cannot believe that a player can attack another and get away with it.
When you are top things go for you but the Darts used up about 3yrs worth tonight and I genually believe we will end the season a better side then them.

I genually believe we will end the season a better side then them. Hopefully with both of us going up There's no other team to really fear in this league and tonight showed we can compete with the best. Take the positives, work on the errors and move on

'Darts made all the running on a flat surface bathed, initially, in sunshine but the Sporting Gods, realizing the lopsidedness of the occasion, retired to Olympus, leaving behind a hazy sky.' What has this guy been on ? Is this some kid's GCSE English project, or maybe RE? Truly some people lose all sense of perspective sometimes. He's a reporter for a local newspaper and is known for his outlandish comments, which we love him for!

I thought the first half was excellent and hard-fought but the match evaporated as a contest in the second.
We showed some good attacking play, but Dartford looked more dangerous from dead ball situations than we did. Overall, the difference between the two sides was in the defending. Once we went behind - after again failing to clear a long throw-in - it was always going to be hard to come back, and the own goal soon afterwards killed off the game. The third goal was also unfortunate as Kev had both hands on the ball but it had apparently just crossed the line.
This was always a game we were likely to lose given Dartford's super-charged start to the season, and it's already hard to see any other side winning the league. But the hard truth is that we've now lost over half of our league matches, and are again behind where we were at this stage last season. The more encouraging news is that no team below Dartford is putting together any sort of form. Although we're now in the bottom half, we're only five points behind second-placed Canvey.

Billy, often the scoreline doesn't reflect the game. Today was a perfect example. We beat Hendon 2-1 earlier in the season, and our performance was much worse than tonight. Sometimes the breaks don't go your way, coupled with bad reffing decisions. I'm sure you've watch many a game where the scoreline wasn't 'fair'

I think I am in agreement with most comments in that i was not too disheartened on leaving the stadium. Disappointed naturally, but I actually thought that was our best performance for a while (especially the first hour).
The Dartford defence was superb and despite the possession and good play in the first half they pretty much made sure that clear cut chances were kept to a minimutm but our defence was also great up until the first goal.
After that, chasing a game can often lead to more goals conceded and the own goal was just bad luck, pure and simple.
If we play like this for the rest of the season, we will not be in a bad position at the end of it. We just need more of a cutting edge to reward the hard work in the build up.

First 45 I thought we did very well. Certainly matched 'em very well. Unfortunately, with the way they've gone off the blocks this season, I feared the second half might be a different prospect and so it turned out.
Disappointing that probably the first header we don't win in & around our own box they scored from. And the OG killed us off TBH.
Still, encouraging signs. Certainly don't feel we deserved to get beat 3-0, but the better side won on the night. As already mentioned, I thought their back 4 was superb all night & their timing with challenges was excellent, especially with players like Hann & Phillips running at them at pace.
I think we just need to string a few results together at the mo to get us going & gather some momentum. There's no middle ground for us right now, as we're either getting a win or losing. And that won't get us a top 5 spot.
Still, long way to go.

Although 0-3 was very harsh and I think we shaded the 1st half, you have to say that in the 2nd we did not get a shot on target. The real difference between the teams was that Dartford stuck to a successful attacking formation whereas we went out with a 4-5-1 in order to compete. After the unfortunate og we switched to a more attacking formation, at which point Dartford took control. When we can send out a team playing the formation we want to play and leave the opposition with the problem of how to deal with it, then we will be ready for promotion.
Still, it was an excellent performance as evidenced by the supporters staying on to applaud the team. I leave it to someone else to explain that to Billy.
Finally, in 45 years watching football, I've never seen a player take a kick at someone after play has been stopped and only get a booking. The Dartford 8 is a very lucky boy (and the ref is an idiot).
