I don't think one person at this club thinks this game will be a turn up and win job. Agreed - we've lost too many times to teams who on paper should not have beaten us. This includes W&F last year in the Trophy. However easy the Uxbridge game was, no one took that for granted, and the same at Ware and Aylesbury last year |

Has anyone posted on their forum to say that Micky Cornwell's broken leg was an accident and we are not holding a 20 year old grudge? As it was me that mentioned it first maybe I had better put the record straight. We don't want a Fowler/Hamshire/Carshalton spat now do we?  |

I would do, but then can't be bothered with people who can't read properly. Yes I do hate Walton and Hersham. Not really the football club. Just the towns of Walton and Hersham.... |

I quite like Walton as a place I lived by the river for a few months and worked around there for years although there are a lot of sheep which may explain some eccentricities? As for Hersham I never actually found it, is it a real place?

I lived in Walton for a year or so in the mid Eighties and when we played them away in the cup it was a 15 mnute walk from the house. We went to the home game, which in fairness we played poorly in, and the replay in which we stuffed them. It may have changed but there weren't any decent pubs near their ground, the one near the station really was not good. Hopefully we will win and it won't go to a replay. If there is a replay I will supply a (dated) pub guide. A dangerous tie for us, they will see it as a benchmark and have a good start to the season. Can't make it tomorrow as standing in to run Alderbury U18s against Hatch Warren in Basingstoke . Check out the Alderbury FC presentation evening and you may even see a Us shirt!

There's bugger all near the ground and you have to head into 'town' and slightly beyond for a decent pint. The Wetherspoon's does decent ale and I never thought I'd say that about one of those! There's also the Swan down on the river that's been poncied up a bit but for a Youngs pub it isn't too bad. Oh, the Spoons is next to my Grandma's house. |
