Below are comments from the Walton forum.
We struggled against a very average side last night and it doesn't help with the manager swopping the side around so often. I know and expect some fringe players to play in games like this but we do need constancy. We seemed to have the right balance, although not perfect with Danny Francis and Chico Smith playing as wing forwards. We definately need a mid field general with the age and experience to hold that position and direct. Please find another Mooro. I thought we had a chance against Sutton but two awful games against basically a poor side doesn't bode well. Hopefully we will raise our game and the manager will select a balanced team with Francis and Smith and being the FA Cup hopefully we can dig out a draw and bring them back to The Lane for another late night finish. How many goals have we now let in through dead ball situations in recent matches ? Answer...Too bloody many. The manager did say he would replace players not performing, well depending on the Sutton outcome perhaps he should start to have a rethink.

Very poor quality football, against one of the worst sides i've seen this season. We were rescued again by a very good Tarpey* goal in injury time, but even he was strangely quiet tonight.
Still, we did enough to go through despite playing a considerable amount of time with 10 men after the ref got yet another decision the wrong way round. He was abysmal.
Their 3 goals were all from set pieces given to them by dubious refereeing decisions, but the keeper seemed rooted to his line for all three. He made up for it with the penalty saves though.
But anyway, we got the luck. We'll need to be much better than that on saturday. Come on you swans!!!
*Tarpey one to watch on Saturday.

It's good to see that we're not the only side let down by set pieces and incompetent refs. ;D It looks as if W&H didn't field their strongest eleven in the Trophy, but also that they've lost their early season impetus. There's a suggestion that if this Saturday's game is drawn, W&H should prevail in the replay at Stompond Lane. I wouldn't be so sure about that.

One thing we must guard against is giving away too many free kicks close to goal. Along with his other talents, Tarpey looks to be a specialist free kick man who net from anywhere !
