The only thing that stopped it being the worst first half of all time, during which neither side had a shot, was that it was at least a beautiful day.
I was just about to go home when Sutton introduced three subs and things livened up considerably. They hit the woodwork twice, had a goal disallowed and forced the keeper into two or three good saves.Justice was served when they scored a late winner,0 - 0 would have been a travesty.

The rec side of the ground can be a very depressing place to venture. I think there is an unofficial competition to see who can whine first and longest at each game Your a saint Billy compared to that lot

I believe he means the graveyard terrace! Lots of dissatisfaction today with a number of players.I moved away with half an hour to go as the moaning got too much.

For an hour we never found any sought of pattern, hitting long balls to no one not squeezing them in midfield and created nothing. It was very frustrating to watch as Walton had absolutely nothing in the locker to counter us once we selected even 1st gear. The triple substitution changed the game completely we closed down in midfield and found just how easy it was to get the ball off them went for the shorter interplay and had them like a desperate boxer on the ropes. We did not play well yet hit the post, the crossbar and had a goal disallowed and this against a side that was going to give us a really big test. As bad as the forward play was for the first hour our defence were never troubled and credit should go to them for nullifying any threat and allowing us to eventually get out of neutral. I am really disappointed at elements of the home support booing at HT and getting on players backs, that's not support and hopefully they all went home with half an hour to go to leave the real supporters to see the team through to a deserved victory. 7.5k in the kitty, Dartford go out 1-4 to Chelmsford and apparently it was never a 4-1 And those little Angels go down 2-0, but for me the surprise of the round is Aveley's 1-1 draw away to Hampton, Dundas again on the scoresheet. A lot of moaners today but we are through and that is all that matters!

You should Billy, LOL. It's the covered bit opposite the main stand & one of them was the tosser who booed the team at half-time.
Poor first half & it wasn't until the 3 subs were made (as Billy said) that we really got going. Alan Pouton was immense, brilliant close skill & passing and very unlucky with the free-kick. In the end a well deserved victory. W&H fought hard as one would expect, were well organised & probably a tad unfortunate the way the goal came about but then we had struck the woodwork twice before that.
I don't think Scriv had a real save to make the whole game & Tarpey was snuffed out for much of the match.
MOM for the full 90 mins for me was Sonny Cobbs but the whole team worked hard, even if a bit under par for the first hour.
This was the first time that the club has fought through to the 4q rnd, two seasons running since the mid-70's. And the only time U's have got through the qualifiers to the first round in consecutive years was the first two seasons after WWII!!
We await the draw on Monday!

I believe he means the graveyard terrace! Lots of dissatisfaction today with a number of players.I moved away with half an hour to go as the moaning got too much. As in 'one foot in the grave'? We were out of it for the first hour until the triple substitution...young James Hawes looked like a lost lamb on the wing and eventually drifted into the middle; every ball that young Alan Bray had he lumped too far over the attack (something which I've noticed is all too common - do they train with different balls from the matchballs?); there seemed to be no meat in the butty until Pouton and debutant Perkins arrived. Young Anthony Joseph made a fantastic run off which included an off the pitch diversion around the lineo to whip the ball in to the mixer leading to another hit off the woodwork, I love his pace, very exciting, he should have played for longer today - his cracking goal for our 3rd against Uxbridge shows how dangerous he is. But those nobheads in the 'Graveyard Terrace'...shouting at Doswell 'Call yourself a manager?' and shouting at JH calling him sh*t, then booing at half-time? They've obviously never played, coached nor managed a team in their (already too lengthy) lives....what f@cking effect will this behaviour have on the opposing team? Boo your own players and the oppo go in boyed up....for f@ck's sake....good on the fella who had a go at those moany old bastards. I think SUFC need to look carefully at prioritising how to manage terrace behaviour - they sh*t themselves at the thought of fans having a nice pint and getting behind the team, but let these sober w@@kers endanger the club's chances of success.... Rant over. Bring on Luton or Oxford or some shits like that....

Alan Pouton was immense, brilliant close skill & passing and very unlucky with the free-kick. Agreed - he has a really unique way of kicking cross-field passes, inch perfect, hope he passes this skill on to the younger pups. I don't think Scriv had a real save to make the whole game & Tarpey was snuffed out for much of the match. True enough, the unit did well. KES was my MoM, solid. We await the draw on Monday! Oh yes!

I think the first half was possibly the worst ive seen Sutton play this season. Far too much hoofing the ball up, at least half of the defence were in disarray, and we kept getting snuffed out in midfield.
2nd half started in the same vein, but the substitutions were inspired I though. Joseph cause a constant problem, Perkins had a solid debut, and Pouton's skills were subline at times. After 70 mins when W&H started tiring, it finally swung in our favour, and after numerous woodwork smashing moment, Sam picked up on them failing to clear a decent freekick to give us justice.
For all their words before, W&H I though were poorer than Uxbridge, especially their attack - Tarpey wasn't given a sniff by Goodliffe and KES, and Scriven dealt with everything professionally and to me was my overall man of the match (although Sonny did deserve his bottle)
Job done, this potential banana skin avoided, Monday morning we'll know who we have on the 24th - I think we've all got our favourites. We wont be playing Havant and Waterlooville though, who along with Newport County slipped up on those skins...

Yes the performance wasn't great, and bloody frustrating but booing doesn't help now does it. I remember Ramsgate last season away where we were shocking. I expressed my dissatisfaction by refusing to applaud after the game. That to me is appropriate. OK people pays their monies and take their choices, but having a responsibility for ones actions comes with that level of freedom.
