Vern, look at the "goals scored" stats, as you can see, they are on an upward trend, which shows that Dos is building attacking sides !!

To be fair to PD's predecessors the stats are at 2 different levels, we weren't playing the likes of Waltham Abbey, but were Hampton's week in week out. That's not to say PD has not done a fine job but there are stats and there are damn lies, if he recreates those stats in the Connie Sth then we are talking

I have been to 4 home games this season and seen a grand total of 2 goals scored by Sutton.
In one game Sutton did not muster a single worthwhile attack let alone have a shot.
Against Waltham Abbey yesterday they played a home fixture with one man up front. No doubt all the usual suspects will tell me how wonderful it all is but i can't see it.
Waltham have the second worst goal difference in the league and have now scored 11 goals in 14 games, hardly a team to be worried about, yet Sutton employed cagey, safety first tactics.
What is going on here please ?

PD put the side together at the start of the season just 12 weeks or so ago, he has corrected last season's away problems and has acted on problems we were showing midfield at the start of the season. We dominated the game yesterday but clearly as the pattern at home suggests we are struggling to break down sides who come to defend. Its clear to me that if we can find the final ball at home and keep our away form we will have a bloody good chance of being promoted this season, now what is wrong with that from a 12 week old side??

Simple fact is, unless we A: Start stringing some results together and B: start winning more home games, we're going nowhere.

I was at the 3 -1 away win last week against better opposition and it was like watching a different team.
If you think employing negative tactics at home against one of the bottom teams is acceptable then good luck to you - i don't.

Billy do you not understand anything about football? I'm not as clever as you mate please make allowances.I've only been watching since 1960. 4-5-1 is not a negative system in itself, its how you play it which can make it either very negative or the most attacking system there is (Arsenal). As I said on the match thread I do not think we have the players at present to play the system at home effectively!

Billy has a good point. Having one up front only works when the opposition come at you.On saturday i believe we should have used two strikers in conjunction with the wingers. In his notes Dos stated that we shall be seeing less of Payne in a yellow shirt.I don't know why he didn't play on saturday but surely we should utilise him until he actually goes in January.

Probably because if you were an 18 year old who got a dream move coming up, your mind would not only be elsewhere, but you'd be a little bit too worried about pickin gup an injury which could ruin your dream. Nothing bad towards Stefan there, just human nature. At one point in the game, we were playing 4-2-4. I can't see anything negative about that!
