The Met Office reckon it's going to chuck it down tonight and tomorrow, with heavy showers to follow on Saturday. Gale force winds are also forecast. There's a risk of flooding and transport disruption. It would be a good idea to have alternative plans on standby for Saturday. (Staying at home may be the best bet!) Then again, they might get it completely wrong.

Can anyone forecast how Sutton will approach the game ? Or,better still, can someone "in the know" inform us ?
I note that their opponents are midtable and have conceded almost two goals per game.Does this mean that we can expect to see Sutton put more than one man over the halfway line and maybe even have a shot or two ?

Whilst the tone of the meesage could be a little lighter I agree that we do need to have a go at home. Draws get you nowhere. The oppo are generally nothing to fear and we need to find a way of creating chances and getting some shots in. Too many games this year have gone by where there hasn't been the required urgency and intent to go and score some goals. I'm sure if we set our minds right we can start winning comfortably at home and get some confidence up. The play offs are within reach but we need to get a decent run together sooner rather than later.

So Billy, in which particular match that you have seen lately, did we perform as you describe?

I got to say I don't really understand what Billy is getting at? I guess its the formation with 1 up front but we completely bossed the game against WA, at time we had 10 up? The problem is that we are finding it difficult to break down defences or find that killer pass but that does not mean we are negative. The problem is not 4-5-1 its our ability to make it work at home, for that you need the right players bloody good movement and a good passing midfield with defenders who can kick on. Now I just don't think we are quite good enough to do it to unlock defences which is why I think we need a different approach at home. But that is a very long way from what you are saying Billy which just does not make any sense at all to me?? As I said before Arsenal play 4-5-1 and are the premierships top scorers, so the there is proof that the system can be shown to be the most attacking one there is??? I hope the weather does not wash out the fun day as I shall bit a bit p*ssed off if that happens

I don't think you need to take him on his literal word there but games vs Boreham Wood, Waltham Abbey, even Margate in the FA Cup which we somehow won, Tonbridge Angels, all I'd say performances where there is clear evidence that more needs to be done in the attacking sense at home.

I think people have got to remember that there is a history here, we started off the season playing 4-4-2 with SP and SG but even the games we won at home against Margate and AFCHx showed we were suffering in midfield completely losing it for long periods in games. PD did something about that by going 4-5-1 which has really helped our midfield we have hardly been outplayed their since, and we have had a massive benefit away where it has really worked. Now that leaves PD with the home issue to sort out which I think he will do by bringing in another striker to partner Sam, once we get that right then we will be in for a cracking good chance of promotion.
Some people like Billy need to understand what building a team means, it takes some managers years and its totally unfair on PD an AP to expect the world in 3 months?

"Team" is a strange word as far as the current Sutton outfit are concerned. Since last October i have seen approximately 70 players represent the "team"
I have met and read (in here) lots of football experts though, some of them get so upset that you'd think you were insulting their Mum instead of passing fair comment on the games.
