That was T&M's first league win at GGL since Aug 1978 - tenth time of asking.

Agree with Frakey, Hamlin best player on the park by a distance yesterday.
We were sloppy and slow out the blocks. Didn't clear our lines at all in the first half and left ourselves too much to do. Thought the shoddy first half all started at the back - all four were poor first half. Added to that we passed as badly as humanly possible. Think Tooting were ok and may be in the mix for a play off place. We lose too many games, simple as that. We need to improve consistency if we want to be in the play off.

As a Tooting fan attending last nights game I had to laugh at some of your supporters comments during the game. 'We have sunk to their level' and 'All they do is hoof it' were the two most common. I think you need a reality check, you are just not good enough and your perfromance last night said exactly that. Taking a 2-0 half time lead did you expect Tooting to come out and go hell for leather for more goals in the second half and open the game up? No, the job was done and we defended reasonably well but in all fairness you never looked like scoring which you only did through a pen. There is also a time to hoof it (conditions etc) and I saw a few hoofs from Suttons central defenders last night but obviously tainted glasses are good seller down the 'Lane'! Having watched Tooting alot this season I can assure you they play the ball around fairly well and some of their football has earnt respect from better teams then Sutton but your supporters seem to be living in the past. A large dose of reality seems to be the order of the day.

OK lets be honest, the Tooting style of play was typical of that seen at Ryman level it does involve quite a bit of hoofing the ball forward and mixing it in the box or there about's. Defensively Toots were well drilled and stuck to their jobs well but needed a element of luck such as a goal line clearance and one back off the post to secure the points. I don't think anyone is denying the result but I would say that playing as Toots and so many others do it will never bring promotion but it will maintain a side in this league. If you seriously want to get out of the RP you need to have something extra like Dover and Staines last season and Dartford this, Toots don't have it and we have it on a too inconsistent basis at the moment.

Mr Fawlty how dare you come on here & stir! LOL. Actually bearing in mind where you stood during the game, I'm not the least surprised by what you heard. They do live in the past & spend most matches moaning at U's players.
Having said that, we may not have been good enough on the night but have put in some good performances this season. The key word is consistency as a record of W8 D1 L7 would suggest.
See you on the 14th at IF.

Interesting that we haven't drawn many this season, that was our Achilles last season.

I wondered if you would guess Frakey? Still it does drive me mad when supportere think they know everything about a side when watching them for the first time that season. Tooting were missing 3 first team players on Tuesday and with only a small squad the result looks even better. As for our style, check our fans website and see what the Stockport fans had to say after we played them in the cup. As for the fans around me (I was standing undercover on the half way line opposite the main stand so you know who you are) I was forced to listen to my ipod (your fav Frakey ....ABBA!!!!) to shut the utter drivel coming out of a feamle behind me. For all you other supporters how do you lot put up with such crap!

I have been known to question their opinions from the safety of behind the goal!! Don't expect the cup tie to be a pointer, as we may play some of our squad & Suburban players. We have a busy December schedule.

To be honest I am not sure what Tooting will do for SSC. Out of all cups apart from the SSC and LSC (AFC due the Monday 21st) Billy might rest a few but we really havent the budget or the players to do so. Could be blinder!!!!!!

tbe honest fawltytowers i dont know hopw you can say you played well against stockport because the score and one of my mates who is a t&m fan seems to disagree. I personally think the 1st half was poor and second half we simply lacked that final ball.
I agrre that fans shouldnt slag players off. Especially the midfielders. Pouton and Mckimm have been some of our most consistent players this season with the defence seeming to look stronger and more organised with mckimm sitting in front

Oh dear Mr Euphoric you are struggling to understand! My defence was not in the result against Stockport, though I did think 5-0 was harsh but to be fair even the blinded u's fans would fail to defend that score but in the performance and the comments put on our fans web site by the Stockport fans. They were generally surprised at how we played, ball on the ground and knocking it around etc (please see our fans forum for their comments) which was contary to the sad view of your supporters in deafeat on Tuesday night last. I suppose AFC Hornchurch did the same yesterday in beating the outstanding current Sutton United side.

fawltytower, the result is what mattered. You beat us 2-1, because we were not good enough. We were also not good enough on saturday either. If we were on both occasions we would have won. Its not arrogance, its a fact of life. You were better than us on Tuesday. It doesn't mean you have the better team, or nor do we. But for most of the second half we were camped in your half a lot of the time. We didn't take our chances. Lets move on, but don't make sweeping generalisations like "the sad views of your supporters in defeat on Tuesday night". Well done on your victory, but don't get too cocky either, its where we are at the end of April that matters, and theres a lot of the season to go.
