Incidentally fawlty, we put up with those fans by standing in a different terrace behind the goal or as far away from the centre of it as possible when we're kicking that way. Unfortunately that means we have to listen to frakey but i would rather do that then put up with some of the old boys opinions.

It is very quiet where i sit with the exception of the odd word of (polite) advice from my mate and his brother.
There is also a chap who calls out "Thankyou" at regular intervals, that being his only ever comment.Of course i am far too shy to ask him what it's all about.

Andy K - its not arrogance; Im not even being cocky - the point I have been trying to make is that some of your supporters on this website have tinted glasses and can only see the bad in a side after they have beaten you. Referring to our own fans web site many supporters from other teams have been impressed with the way Tooting knock the ball about, Stockport, Eastbourne etc and have said so (please feel free to read). Its just a shame your lot cant put aside their glasses for a while and give an honest and open view of the game. Except that is for the woman who stood behind me during the game, you could have been playing Arsenal and she would still have told everyone what a poor side they were!

Well fawlty, although you beat us, you were certainly not the best footballing side i've seen this season - both Canvey and Dartford have beaten you hands down on that one. But you did what you needed to do to get your win, which however disappointing that is for us, is a fact of life. We knew as a side we didn't perform as well as we could have - just 3 days previous we stuffed a side who'd only previously lost in the first week of the season. My opinion (and not the opinion of all Sutton supporters I know) was that you were an average side (and that is no way a critisism), who were quite physical and basic. Like I said, no critisism at all, because if thats a style of play which means you challenge for the title then there is no issue!
I've certainly seen a lot worse sides this season (Waltham Abbey were especially poor) but my point is that you decided to tar all our supporters with the same brush. I could say that all Tooting supporters are really fat and smell because I saw one that was. Obviously thats not true, but I wouldn't go and make assumptions on that on the Tooting forum.
If you think this forum is biased towards their own team (erm its a Sutton one and therefore probably the place to be biased), us Sutton supporters are generally quite a bright lot, and accept our failings before saying others are rubbish - you should go to some of the other websites in the league. If its arrogance you are looking for, you'll find it in spades elsewhere!

The problem is Fawlty is that we see our side every week but only see our opponents twice a season and can only go on what we see in those games as you can when assessing us. What we saw last Tuesday was a side take the lead from what I now understand to be well offside goal and followed it up by a neatly taken free kick. I have no problem with that we would of happily taken those 2 goals, however for the remaining hour of the game Toots defended very deep and showed little of no threat on the break, clearing one off the line and watching another rebound off the post. You may well play attractive passing football but not on that evening and I would be surprised if you were not mighty relieved when the final whistle went? It was a resolute defensive performance with an element of good fortune which meant you took home all 3 pts. It does not mean you always lump the ball or we are not as good as we think we are and the old saying is true the table will not lie at the end of the season.
