Or possibly freezing his bits off. Terrific win for Fulham tonight, I fancy one of the Turkish clubs, Galatasaray or Fenerbhace in the next round.

Shaktar Donetsk in the next round on 18th Feb, for any other Thursday night footy fans out there. Ajax or Juve if they get through, not so good as I've seen both of them.

Well, I'm back. Yep, it was cold with a few snow flurries but nothing like that which greeted us between Gatwick and Rustington! Bloody nightmare for JohnC driving, even the main roads were covered with snow.
Anyway, Basel was a nice place but a tad expensive (6 quid a pint). The stadium was excellent (I and 6 others passed it 30 years plus ago on the way to Chieti and you would not recognise it since it was rebuilt for the Euros).
The match was excellent. Fulham knocked the ball around and scored 3 excellent goals oh, Bobby Zamora!! The Basel fans sang throuhout, even when 2-0 and 3-1 down - they were brilliant. After the game we were back in central Basel wthin 30 mins, thanks to their superb tram system.
I really enjoyed the trip, although JohnC picked up a tummy bug the night before we left and was a bit quiet through the game. However, I won't be going to Donestk, too far & the flight will cost too much.
Bobby for England!

Sorry Billy, as a Foxes fan I have been totally bemused by the fans of England and Emile's clubs after Leicester. He never was and never will be a 20 goal a season man at the highest level. He made many goals at Leicester and his work rate was great. Whoever thought they were buying themselves a leading goalscorer from Leicester needed their head examining. Emile Ivanhoe Heskey is and always will be the boy from Leicester, even my cat is named after him. When he was in the City side under MOM and we were always finishing in the top ten he had a midfield of Izzett, Lennon and Savage behind him. That left him free to roam down the wing or down the middle and leave other guys unmarked to slot home. At least he was/is 100 times better than Akinbyi. ;D

Your Mom was manager of Leicester ? Heskey averages approxinately 1 goal every 5 games throughout his career. The amount of caps (60 odd) he has for England is not far short of a national scandal.Osgood got 4 caps and Worthington 8.
A dead man,if correctly positioned, would score more goal than that big tub of lard.

Christ Billy, you are becoming a bore mate. You sound like Jeff Powell in The Mail, comparing playes of yester year with those of now. The game's changed mate. Heskey does a certain job and leaves the goal scoring to the rest (34 goals in qualifying). He sacrifices the glory to do the donkey work.
The main prob for Heskey is that he is not playing that much for Villa & picks up injuries regularly.
Still, I see Zamora scored again for Fulham & apparently had a great overall game.

The game certainly has changed.
Still,it's only 35/45 quid to get in so who can complain ? It will continue as long as mugs who will stand for anything turn up in droves in their ludicrous replica shirts, and get their opinions from Andy Gray and Richard Keys and anyone else who is making vast fortunes out of said mugs.

He doesn't play so much for Villa because John Carew is a better striker and is the fans idol.As a Villa supporter i wasn't happy we bought Heskey and nothing he has done so far has changed my mind.

He is a tosser mate.Sadly, the modern day supporter can only repeat what the TV "experts" tell them instead of forming their own opinions.
Perhaps their mobile phone, bottle of water, replica shirt, jester hat or camera are obstructing their view.A lot of them do seem to spend more time gazing longingly at their phone than watching the match.

Forget the Heskey business, I think the comment "Bobby for England" is more worrying as the press have recently started to pick up on it.
You may have been joking Frakey (I hope so) but lets be honest, he's not really good enough for Fulham. Forget the last month and remember the past 18 months. If he can play for England, then so can I.
Problem is that there are hardly any decent English forwards. Anybody who has a half decent run of games (Zamorra, Carlton Cole, Kevin Davies etc) all get put forward because other than Rooney, its a very average bunch
