....and the launch of the book to commemorate the 40 years since we met Leeds in the FA Cup 4th Round, Wellie has bunged some pics my way of a couple of items he thought some people might not have seen before. Of course, apologies to the older codgers amongst you who have.

I think you'll like the book, Billy. I saw the finished article for the first time last night, although I'd obviously seen a lot of the text beforehand, and i think the writer & editor have done a really good job. Bound to bring back memories of when we had some truly great amateur players.

I forgot that Hillingdon Borough's manager and left back was George Cohen's full back partner at Fulham.

I think Mr Langley was roasted that night (in the old fashioned sense) by a certain Mr Bladon !

On second thoughts, did Langley play in the replay or was he injured ?'

Jim Langley became the kitman at Crystal Palace soon after that match. He was the last man to play against Stanley Matthews.

Hillingdon's Number 9 was Pat Terry, grandfather of the current Chelsea player.

What a fantastic evening that was, after the Sat game at Hillingdon when it was a back to the wall job, with Roffey being surperb and keeping us in the game on a bitterly cold and snowy Tuesday evening. With the replay the draw had already been made and......and thev winners knew that they would be at home to mighty Leeds and the complaining Don Revie. That night Sutton ran rings round them...and the look on Jims face was a picture!! This was a fantastic time to be a Sutton Supporter and it was just the beginning of an exciting era. The committee at that time decided to play the game at GGL instead of switching to Elland Road. ....
