If my memory serves me well the 3rd Round Tie at Hillingdon was postponed on the 3rd Jan and was played on the 6th. The night was freezing and the pitch rock hard and icy and would not have been played today. The 7500 crowd was boosted when a lock on one of the gates broke and several hundred got in for free. Dave Roffey in the Sutton goal was terrific in his bright red tracksuit as were all our team in a full bloodied proper Cup Tie.0-0 the final result. We all travelled back to Sutton with a warm glow to keep out the Winter chill. Don Revie was at the match and in the national press the next day said "The Sutton keeper Roffey was as competent as almost anyone i have seen between a League Sides posts this Season.High praise indeed!

On the kit descriptions it says 'Chocolate and Amber', whereas today Sutton play in ever-so boring plain yellow. Anyone got a picture of the kit in 1970?

I believe we played in all white in that cup run or certainly did in one of them.

The kit in those days was a plain amber shirt with standard round collar, white shorts and amber socks.

I'm certain there was an embroidered S U F C in Chocolate running diagonally in the 'badge' position.

In 2008, £1.00 from 1971 was worth £18.82. So the 10/- entrance fee was a bargain at £9.41.
How much would we charge if Man U were to come to GGL?

I'd rather give them away in here to one of you loyal supporters.Didn't want to tear the ticket away here - must of/have ? been good sellotape !
