They took your comments a little seriously! Their club lacks any class at all. Don't understand why the ref allows the abuse he was subjected to for every decision, particularly 2 and 8 for them, but there were others. A minority of their fans behind the goal were vile.
As for the game it was good to see us get through a scrap, the sort of game we have been losing. The challenges were certainly flying in from word go and it had a cup tie feel to it. Nice to see the ball fall well for us a couple of times in their box for a change - we actually got a set piece goal (of the cross type)!! Perkins could have been slightly more subtle with his fouls and conceded so many but at least he did compete and their guy up front certainly was a handful aerially. Still think we give away too many free kicks. Sometimes we just need to stand up or accept we can't win a header if it goes in to the forward flat. Just a little more composure needed in the decision making. Scrivs prob had his worst game for us but we can forgive him that seeing as he has been so good this year (our best player?). Could have gone for the foul on the forward but his touch had gone well away from goal and there was a player covering. Right decision made.

Anyone noticing the bottom of the table....if Dartford didn't draw today, and won, a certain team in the Borough of Sutton would have been in a relegation position.....

Not the greatest performance (i think we have probably played better and drawn or lost) but solid and a great result. We certainly looked stronger than on Tuesday night and I hope today was a springboard for the next month or so.
Regarding the Tonbridge fans, I can only say that I am so glad that I do not have to put up with them again this season. I have taken to standing close to the home dugout lately as its interesting to see and hear close up how Dos and the coaches feel things are going and what instructions they give.
At the end of todays game, i was surrounded by a small group of Tonbridge fans who were desperate to get at the ref. We have all been annoyed by referees at some point but trying to physically attack them as they leave the pitch is going too far.
Then as we walked out of the ground they started chanting to Dos who was organising the warm down and threatening to smash his car up.
The banter during the game was quite good and I enjoy a lively atmosphere but this lot went too far. Sadly, their manager wasnt much better for large parts of the game.
Lets hope we make it to the play offs and get out of the division so we dont have to put up with these prats at GGL again.

Thought we were good in the first half, Norwood and Taylor's movement was excellent, and James Hawes had his best half in a Sutton shirt that I've seen so far. But second half - pretty poor really, we let them push us back for long periods and the quality of the forward balls deserted us. Still, a good win on paper and 3 hard earned points. I'd like to see us start with a strong side at Guildford and hopefully get some momentum going with a good performance and a few goals, maybe Watts could get a start? As for Tonbridge - what an incentive they are for us to get out of this league. A mouthy manager to rival Borg, players who moan and surround the ref for just about anything, and those couple of pr*cks that came and gave it the big one in front of us behind the goal when they scored. Very grown up lads, you just made the decent fans and your whole club look even worse.

Quarm was pleasing again, hope to see him convert some long-range efforts in the future. He looks like the kinda person who would. Cartlidge looks tidy, and I expect Burtie to make something of his name, or would that be too easy? Vern was right after all, that w***er who stole the flag shows you what a bunch of what-cha-ma-call-its they are. Thank goodness we don't have to see them again in the foreseeable future.

Ah yes it didn't escape me, though it seems it did to the TA fans.

I think it was easy to give Charlie the man of the match for his two goals and an excellent performance, but for me I thought KES was absolutely outstanding. Not just solid at the back, but looked back to his best bringing the ball out well and joining in when we pushed forward. As for their fans, I was stuck in between the gobshites at the end threatening Dos etc. etc. and didn't really want to have to try and explain to my 4 year old what a c*nt was, although the answer was actually quite obvious!

When it comes to segregation what a excellent argument TAFC fans make for it and proves the decision to do it last time was wholly justified. They have also made a brilliant argument for segregation should they happen to be down the lane again next season. The flag situation could have been a serious flash point had Sutton supporters not been such a sensible bunch. It is clear that the behaviour of TAFC's players and management has slowly filtered its way down to the supporters.

Think OS you can go one further than that - try their manager - Tonbridge were never that retarded until he arrived there

One of their posters on the TA forum is complaining about the pitch! Does he not remember the recent weather we've had! Anyway, I quite like the clump of grass along the wing on the far side (Collingwood End). It's rather comical sometimes, and should be used to our advantage.

Mind you in the Trophy game which was segregated they only brought around 45 fans, whose average age was around the same....

Ah....someone just told me there was some sort of Appleby Fair type thing in Kent that weekend, bareknuckle boxing, horse trading, cousin marrying.

If i saw he'd knicked the flag he would have been flat on his face as he ran right past me!
