I thought the second half was complete and utter rubbish. Tonbridge pretty much bossed the second half with strength and over-the-top antics. Overall I thought we stood up well against this. The referee was over run with players in his face and should really have stamped it out a lot earlier. I believe we got away with a 2-1 win from a very ugly match, which was not a good advert for Ryman football. The animosity between the two clubs on and off the pitch is beginning to get out of order, and is almost at the point were it is not enjoyable to watch matches between us. One good point, as it was from the away game - their keeper who continues to be a sportsman throughout. Also, I spoke to a couple of sensible Angels' fans at half time and they were not happy with their manager, although they did say their team was depleted due to injuries and suspensions. KBB

An important win today and, IMO, one our first half display deserved.
The riot act had clearly been read in the TA changing room at h/t but we stepped to the plate to ensure the vital three points were won. Up to 6th now and still, in my view, on course for a nerve-jangling Play-Off berth at the end of the season. Unlike last season, when Staines were clear favourites to join Dover in the BSS, I see no outstanding candidates this time around. It is there for the taking with a modicum of consistency and a bit of good fortune.
In the light of the well documented defensive shortcomings on Tuesday (especially from set pieces) my MOM today was Steve Perkins who I thought was very strong throughout.
Well done guys.

"tis a shame that some TA fans still want to go on about Dos. Warrilow is hardly a shrinking violet as his antics on the touchline today proved.
Their players spent much of the match in the ref's face (it was like watching Keane & co a few years back) and he really aught to have done something about it.
I really thought Scrivs was gonna be sent off but the ball did head off to the touchline, so perhaps the TA forward was not heading for goal or not in control of the ball and that is why only a yellow was shown.
We won this match thanks to a good first half performance that brought two goals and several other near misses and a battling second half performance. Obviously Rook's penalty miss was a bonus.
Still, six points off TA this season - i'd trade that for the Trophy match.

Not a very inspiring 94mins but the result was vital. The provocation and blatant play acting from Tonbridge was unbelievable and as for the Ref there was only one bigger tosser in the ground. No prizes for guessing but but he was in the Tonbridge technical area when he wasnt running down the line slagging off the match officials!

When one of the Pikeys (no8?) booted the ball at the Sutton end on the final whistle, almost hitting the ten-year old ball boy....that's class.

Quarm was pleasing again, hope to see him convert some long-range efforts in the future. He looks like the kinda person who would. Cartlidge looks tidy, and I expect Burtie to make something of his name, or would that be too easy? Vern was right after all, that w***er who stole the flag shows you what a bunch of what-cha-ma-call-its they are. Thank goodness we don't have to see them again in the foreseeable future. Well, now you mention it... I was thinking that he could help give the team a strong spine. Or something like that. I did feel that the moron running up to the Sutton end left a very bad taste in the mouth - some people really have no class whatsoever. I have to pity someone like that but it doesn't stop it being unpleasant.

TA supporters are a very bitter lot - maybe it's the Club name. You know the boy named Sue syndrome. Better performance because we looked far more balanced. AJ does a great job in the centre but is much more able to influence attacking play from the full back position. JC fitted in well and whilst the game was not very pretty (the pitch did not help) we got three important points.

Don't have to look far for proof.....Florida Angel sums it up nicely sutton= horrible little club living off events 25 years ago. crap ground crappier pitch and pathetic support, only the slightest of noise once they were 2 up. summed up by one **** giving it large at the end when seperated by the gates then sudenly realising when they were opened he needed to back it up- so he hid behind his wife -hilarious to watch him bottle it. thanks god we dont have to go to that dump again this yearPeople in glass houses....... Pillocks like this one gives us all the incentive we need to leave this rubbish league, and leave these sad tinpot clubs to their inbred fighting. I know i'm being a little harsh, but there really are some mongs around

Rubbish league it may be but it is where we find ourselves because we weren't good enough for the league above. Until we prove otherwise it's where we belong and we haven't looked like getting out of it yet. These sad tinpot clubs that you talk about is exactly where we fit right now! Not to say I have any love for Tonbridge mind.

Bollocks to 'em. Absolute set of tossers. Players, fans & management making up a scummy little outfit from top to bottom.
And as for the two jumping up & down in front of the home fans at the end. Did they come on the special bus? What a couple of absolute weapons.
As for the game, urgh! Another Ryman League classic, 2nd half especially which was appalling!
Still, 3 points is 3 points........

The thing is, i would put up with that sort of shite every week if it meant that we won every game and got out of the Ryman League. The goals were nice. I hope their number 6 claims an assist though!

Another classic from 'Gazza' (or should that be Gasser?)
I think we all agree that Lee Worgan is head and shoulders above his teammates when it comes to class and we have applauded and congratulated him on all three occasions we have played TA this season. Our 'W@nker' chant was of course addressed to the Plank who kicked the ball at the ball-boy after the final whistle. As he missed I'm assuming he was the one that took the penalty?
