The home results against the lower half sides illustrate what we wintnessed against (for example) Maidstone and Bognor. Struggling teams were happy to come to GGL and play for 0-0. Next season we need to be better at breaking down those stubborn defences.

I don't remember Craig Watkins being a huge success at Sutton when he was with us ?

He was BRILLIANT for us in his first spell. I still marvel at his "almost" goal away to Yeading. Keepie uppies all the way into the box and then just scraped the cross bar.

I think he's good but not an out and out striker.

Theres a great striker - Elliott someone who just been let go by AFC Dons - Good enough for Conf but not going full time like the rest of them. Worth checking?

Elliott Godfrey.
"Terry Brown spent today talking to the members of his squad and has announced that the following 12 players are being released: Jay Conroy, Derek Duncan, Elliott Godfrey, Will Hendry, Alan Inns, Ben Judge, Paul Lorraine, Ross Montague, Glenn Poole, James Pullen, Peter Rapson and Lewis Taylor."

Next season will have to be about building on the foundations laid this season gone. With those who might leave we could see around five or six new faces next season, but probably only three of those would likely be additions to the squad.
Dos is very clear that he will work within the means of the club and this will have an effect on how many new players join and who they are. A proven striker, a younger holding midfielder and possibly a centre back or left back would most likely be on the forfront of Dos's mind, but with McKimm, Pouton, Jason and Wattsy all in the twilight of their careers, replacements may also be needed.
It is possible that a few of the youth/reserve lads could make the step up next year, with some being quite impressive in the SSC run (maybe some of them should have started? Going of track there, sorry). The squad must be strengthened if we are to challenge for silverware next season, especially if some of the more senior players do turn it in.
We have the makings of a good side, possibly a championship winning side, but Dos will have to work his magic again and get a few guys in to suppliment what he built last season. I'm sure he can continue to strengthen the squad and that another bright season lies ahead.

KES & BWG sign on www.suttonunited.net Dos has also given me five other names of players that he is talking to, with the hopes of capturing at least two of them. Don't forget the vets' game this Thursday.

Don't forget the vets' game this Thursday. Are we signing any of the vet's? If only age didn't catch up with us. We would have a side capable of being in the FL. OK some of them may be in their 70's ;D "What if" is a well used phrase.
