12 goals in 32 appearances this season. Interesting. He would obviously increase that scoring tally in a lower league, but by how much? Well, I'm sure Dos knows best.

This was something that was hinted at by a couple of Eastleigh fans on the Conf South forum a few weeks back.
Forbes is a renowned goalscorer. 143 goals in 268 games at this and Conf South level says it all. A guy who came from county football having scored feckloads and continued the trend having joined Eastleigh.
Certainly the sort of player we need to be looking at.

Theres a very funny comment on there from Ian Baird about "players don't have any loyalty these days" - Pots, Kettles etc Mr B!

Stats I saw said 12 in 27, but let's not quibble over a few games. The important thing to note is that he achievd that after coming back from a long-term injury, so presumably he would be sharper still after a full pre-season. Let's wait now and see what happens, Dos threw a rather long list of names at me and obviously they won't all be coming.

If I remember correctly he played a defensive role against us in about 2005 and at 0-0 with a few minutes left he reverted to his normal position and we lost 2-0.

Baird has said he'd like to use him more as a centre back at Eastleigh....

I must hold my hands up and say I told you so. Andy Forbes was in my thoughts several weeks ago whilst he was having his barney with the manager. I stated then that he would be a coup for us to get a player who can play at the back or up front (as Matty Elliott and Steve Walsh did for Leicester). Also he is only 30 and I am unaware of any injury problems. Fingers crossed for Dos's smooth talking ;D

Theres a good article in the online Guardian by Mckimm praising Gargan, and Dos's thoughts on Richard Jolly and Paul Vines....

How refreshing is this??? It's only a couple of years ago that we wouldn't have been talking about player signings until August!

The fact that Dos was talking to potential new players AT the Surrey Senior Cup final emphasises the change.
And wasn't it last year he was checking out both Perks and Quarm at the Hayes V Hampton playoff final?
