That is a bitter sweet article, SC, FQ and DP are big losses, Jolly signing is excellent just a shame its tempered with the too many loses

Bloody hell. Jolly AND Forbes? That could be some strikeforce if they stay fit. However, I'm going to wait for the magical confirmation pixies to say it's true before I start getting all excited. Haha, just remembered. Speaking to Bruce the bar after the supporters game, I asked the inevitable "who we signing?" question. His reply was "who do YOU think we should sign then?" Naturally, I said "someone like Jolly or Forbes" before adding "oh f*ck it, sign 'em both!" I think I'm going to get some stick off him next time I'm down the club...... ;D Shame to lose Cobbs, Gargan & Quarm though. The latter especially. Sad to hear Hanny has retired as well. The others I'm not surprised we've got shot of. Especially AJ2 talking to the Bobbins. I'll lay money he rips us to fecking bits at their place next year.

Sorry this has got in the press before we've had a chance to put it on the official site. I had a long chat with Dos this afternoon about the incomings and outgoings and will write it up later today - there's a bit more detail than in this article.

Certainly need some more midfielders/wingers now. Could be an exciting strikeforce, just need some guys to create for them now . . .
Maybe there is a chance that 1 or 2 youngsters come through?

I'm sure Dos said that Quarm had signed until the end of next season .Shame if we do lose Cobbs and Gargan as well.

I guess that could be amongst the 'bit more detail' PressSec was referring to?

I'm waiting for the official site to give the full list of ins and outs. Jolly's a good signing though. Not too surprised though, as Taz mentioned in another thread, Jolly has his own business and is not too interested in travelling around the country. Business must be going well for him to take a 'substantial' wage reduction? Good luck to him anyway.

Obviously this is an unfinished story, but with the info I can see Cobbs, Gargan and Quarm are still registered as Sutton players for the time being - if a decent team does not come for them (which to be honest I think they will) then they may well end up staying as Sutton players unless they walk away or Dos lets them go.
Gutted and surprised Matt Hann has retired. Thought he was one of the unsung heroes of the Dos era - scored some important goals, and his attitude to the game, even when he was left out in the cold in his first season was a credit to him
Pouts? Retirement? I wouldn't like to guess, but again when he was available, he was class (Dartford Away anyone?)
I'm a little surprised at Danny Phillips - would like ot know if hes been released or decided to leave. He was utterly fantastic when the pitches were great for him, one of the best in the team, but mid season, when the pitches were boggy, he just couldn't play his game of football.
The Hawes brothers have come in for a lot of stick this season. It would be fair to say they were never going to get my vote for player of the season, but maybe some were a little harsh on them here, esp James who had to play in a variety of positions. Remember as well that Dos put Billy as captain for 3 games. I wish them luck at whichever club they get to.
OK new signings - Kennedy I spoke about, Rapson is the new apprentice up front, and Jolly, well he's a proven goalscorer (although you do have to remember that Chuckie was one of those until he came to us!). If we get Forbes as well to complement BWG then what a strike force to pick from.
Obviously there are other players not on the list e.g. Charlie Taylor so we probably don't know the full story.
I look forward to Dos's interview, and imagine that he's identified and waiting for some rather special midfield targets.

I imagine the lure of playing for proper club run by a chairman who isn't playing real life football manager helped a bit Cobbs and Quarm obviously good enough to play Conf South and I'd love to keep them. Gargan is probably too similar to Jolly but 17 goals in a season without being an ever present player has got attract some interest. Glad to be shot of the Hawes obviosly but i'll leave it at that. If AJ2 get's fit that'll be a great signing for the bobbins. Shame Hanny decided to call it a day. Didn't really get as many games as expected last season.

I think Hanny's problem, like a few players we've had over the last couple of seasons, was that he was never quite 100%. Always have a run of a couple of games & just as he's looking good, out for a couple with a knock. I guess he just got tired of it.
Pouts was the same, he was never going to be available week in week out. We really can't afford that. Plus I don't think he was too chuffed with missing out on the line up for the PO semi!
