I'll put up photos of the obscured view later. In a nutshell, a whole are of terrace which could have several hundred people standing has been rendered a sterile zone.
Players coming out of the tunnel are greeted not by a verdant pitch and a roaring crowd but a grey wall of breezeblocks.

To be honest they are the worst situated dugouts i have ever seen.As Vern says it renders that pieceof standing enclosure redundant.Did they really need to be that close to the pitch?

I have to agree with Vern and delboy, I hate them, they have blocked the view from a large part of the enclosed stand and if we need that area in a big match (home tie in FA Cup) then nobody will be able to stand there without wanting their money back. For the first time in 50 years I've had to find a new place to stand. No bad thing maybe but watching from the Collingwood Road side feels weird. Suppose I'll get used to it. fantastic effort yesterday............looking forward to the start of the season.

We could have had see through walls, but we couldn't afford it! Those pictures above just show why I hate them, I think a few visiting supporters are going to have a field day............actually second thoughts, lets make that enclosed area the new visiting supporters area, specially during segregation ;D

Are they going to be fully plastered or will people be looking at breeze blocks all season? ?

Some steward yesterday was saying that the FA made SUFC build the new dug-outs.
Is this true?

As I understand it, the FA require dug-outs to be equi-distant from the half way line (except for certain Premier League clubs ). In order to take part in FA competitions, the dug-outs had to be re-located. If the FA spent more time sorting out their own problems and less time farting around with pedantic rubbish like this, football might progress in this country!

The dugout move has been something we've been putting off for ages. It is an FA rule that they need to be equidistant from the halfway line, although it's a rule they rarely (ie. never) enforce. There are many PL grounds that 'fail' on this front & I think Arsenal's Emirates was one of 'em.
I understand the new dugouts were done at the request of Dos so he & the coaching team could be equally near the action for both halves. Apparently they have trouble communicating with players when we're defending the GGL end and they're stuck in the old dugout to the right of the tunnel.
Anyway, the view when stood in the 'paddock' in front of the stand has always been pretty shite, so what's the problem? I really can't see how anyone can moan about sightlines when we've got a fecking huge ground with more raised terracing than half the Ryman Premier put together.

Yes the view before wasn't good but its even worse now and is certainly not an improvement in my view.

Can't see what the moaning is about tbh, they are in front of the main stand concourse which is not really meant for viewing the match. Many clubs don't allow standing in that area anyway?

Yep I'm pretty sure there are signs there asking people not to stand in that area - this was at least last year possible for many years.
