Good luck Ian, it is the right time to go as the players aren't responding and it seemed he'd lost the dressing room so to speak.
We need to bring in a strong disciplinarian who won't take any sh*t. It would be nice to get someone in with a good bit of experience with a good few contacts. IMO Micky Stephens isn't that man, a coach at Redhill and manager at Casuals aren't the credentials i'd be looking for for a manager at this club.

I think Haze has answered any questions about his integrity by making this move & Nomadic U, he wasn't sacked. I found Haze an approachable guy and the players responded well to him when he first came here.
Unfortunately, this is a results based sport & the last twenty league matches have not produced the results required.
I'd like to wish him all the best for the future and would hope he is back in the game soon.

Mark, i wasn''t saying Hazel was sacked (it's clear even to me that he quit ), i was asking if Keith Blunt was the last Sutton manager to be sacked.

Ok. Not sure, can't remember how Alan Gane left. Actually Ted Shepherd was not retained when Larry Pritchard resigned & as he was described as a joint manager perhaps it was Ted. He was watching on Saturday and is a regular visitor.

Alan Gane - I think he offered his resignation but as he had just signed Lenny Dennis and Gwynne Berry he was given some time to turn it round.
About a month later his offer was taken up which I think he was a bit peeved with as due to bad weather there had been some postponements and had not had enough games for the turn to take effect.
The above could of course be a load of old tosh though

As with everyone else, I always found Ian to be a really decent fellow and I wish him well in the future. It will be interesting to see if anyone can do any better given the limited financial resources we have to work with and whether the next boss can get the players to turn up on time! By the way, can someone give Sarah a call and ask her to come back?

The plc will show their ambition and hopes for the club with the next appointment i believe, it's going to take some job to get us going again, hence my ask for experience in an earlier post.

Just to add my 2p worth - thanks Ian for some good football last year with the Gaynor/Ide factor. Bognor was great. Good luck with the next project - shame this season wasn't to be.

Good luck to "Haze", sadly the rub of the green hasn't gone his way this time, and, just as above, we do have good memories that we can reflect on. Just as Mark said, IH was always prepared to be "approachable" even when results hadn't gone our way.

Just got to say that Bognor scoreboard photo 'ROCKS 0 SUTTON 4' remains my destop picture it cheers me up and for me was the highlight of IH's reign. New manager how about a guy who's name is similar to a South west county??

Shame it ended like this, but as already mentioned, we're all about results and the side hasn't got them this season or the tail end of last.
Like everyone else, I found Ian an approachable bloke and always happy to chat with fans and answer questions. His coming to talk to us after THAT performance at Newport shortly after he took over spoke volumes about him as a person.
Cheers Ian and good luck.

With reference to Keith Blunt,i believe he resigned but should have been sacked 6 months earlier and maybe we would have retained our conference status or even higher!Water under the bridge now but it still rankles.

Blunt resigned in the summer after being told his full-time position was being reduced to part-time due to relegation if I remember correctly. As for him being sacked earlier, don't get me started!

I'd just like to add my thanks to Ian for efforts over the last 18 months - not necessarily just on the pitch but also helping out at the likes of Cheam Community Football Week as he strived to promote Sutton United Football Club within the local community.
A very approachable manager and was big enough to realise when things just weren't going according to plan it was time to step aside and give someone else a go.
As for a new manager, someone with no previous connection to the club wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing to bring a fresh approach to Sutton United both on and off the field.
