And I thought our "new" kit man looked very smart and fulfilled the role admirably. Well done Milsey....living the dream!! ;D

Truro is still great for a weekend trip. I managed nine Good Beer Guide pubs and Falmouth beer festival so am well happy!
As for the match, let's say we've played a lot better and lost! There may have been plenty of incident but there was precious little in the way of skilful football. Stefan scored our winner but until that point he'd had a shocker of a game, looking uncertain and short of confidence. Truro were clearly down to the bare bones of their squad and, even if they stay solvent, must surely be destined for the drop.
Still, we can't sneeze at the three points. The table is so tight now that, in 17th place, we're only six points behind Boreham Wood in second.

Does anyone know why Steve Old and Harry Beautyman weren't in the squad?

Both injured, I heard. Well done to Honsec for actually performing three jobs yesterday. His own, Kit Man and First Team Secretary. Did you drive the bus and make the tea too?

Both Harry and Steve were carrying injuries and neither travelled with the team.

Cheers Bob, Clive Soper packed the kit (and received it on return to the ground), Bobby, Shawy, Scrivs and Catherine dealt with it in the changing rooms so thanks goes to them as many hands made relatively light work for me!

Not the most enjoyable of trips (the plane and train were ok) with some of the locals giving hand gestures to U's fans, and verbals wind ups and not liking what they got back. Over zealous stewarding (allegedly one of the new owners night club bouncers were used) did not help matters. And some ridiculous allegations made by them too.
The football was always going to be difficult with a strong wind on U's backs in the first half. Their goal was very well struck but Simon Downer reacted quickly enough to equalise, scored another only to see it cancelled out thanks to not the first or last bit of poor refereeing hroughout the match.
Jamie Stuart's pull back was a long way out but I think the ref probably got that right but Stef Payne showed strength & desire to hold off his opponent and score with a fine strike to win the match. U's were the better side for much of the contest without really playing that well.
As for Truro, I'm not convinced they will last the season and tbh, after yesterday's experience, I wouldn't cry that much if they didn't. Last season was a far more enjoyable environment.
Things were not helped when my boiler packed up at around 5am yesterday morning. It did not put me in the best of moods. I await the BG man as I type - where is he?
