I backed us 2 weeks ago with the same bookie at 125/1 each way, 31/1 to finish in the top three is an excellent bet in my opinion! I'm in for a good couple of grand if we win it, I told some there'll be a few bottles of jäger for the players for the trip home from bath if we claim the title!

Well I am on 30 quid with us at +14 which puts us top by 1 pt if we stay there I take a grand for my stake. I also took B/W at 7/1 +18 which puts them 12 pts clear. With the handicap it means they could both win?

This was the first game I have seen this season so with that caveat I have to say we looked like a pretty modest side playing against a pretty poor side. The game didn't develop much pattern beyond Truro being willing to concede posession and try to hit us on the break. We had a lot of the ball but struggled to build any sustained pressure or threat and often resorted to trying to hit a front line who clearly were not going to win much in the air. Still a win is a win and let's hope Truro don't go bust as we need every win we can get. Not seeing us play much or the standard of opposition it's difficult for me to judge but I can't imagine there are too many sides weaker than the team Truro could put out yesterday and on that basis I'm not sure we will be troubling the top half of the table. That said, the windy conditions were difficult and all teams have off-days so maybe it was our off-day? I thought there might be a bigger crowd given Truro's situation. Their supporters were not the friendliest bunch either. Good turn out from Sutton though and an excellent weekend away. Something tells me we won't be playing Truro again any time soon which is a shame because it's a lovely part of the world to go to and see a game too.

Trains, planes and automobiles...here we go...
So on Friday night I returned from work and thought to myself, yeah Truro thats a bit of me!So after calling approx 20 B & B's with no luck as to a room for the evening.I thought I was down and out on my luck...however on my 21st call I was in luck-a room booked for the night for the tidy sum of £27.50 inc breakkie-happy days!
So Saturday morning arrived (04:30am) and we are on the road -Falmouth bound!Aftermaking good time whistling down the motorways and the A303, we arrived at the B &B at 10:30 am-checked in, and short taxi ride later we found the Sutton Clan in the first watering hole in Truro. The look upon Dukes face when I walked in was one of shock and amazement! Juan in Truro who would of thought!
So after drinking a few beers and ciders in various establishments in Truro we headed on up to the ground.Having arrived at the ground and approx 50-60 U's supporters we procedded to hit the terraces, after bumping into a Carshalton Athletic Supporter! ( Think he got lost on his way to Kings Lynn)
So onto the game..three minutes in ane we had conceeded from a quickly taken free kick.At this point I just wanted the ground to swallow me up and teleport me back to Banstead! However still believing some 15 minutes later after a ball rebounded off the post, we burried the ball in the back of the onion bag!! Happy days one a piece...sadly not the ref had pulled it back for a pen -a number of words went through my mind to say the least.
Gwillm stepped up, picked his spot only to be denied by the damn woodwork!! now, Ireally wanted to be teleported back home. Please lord I haven't come all this way for us to lose...have faith I was telling myself, and then from somewhere a good few minutes passed and Simon Downer came forward into the box in his usual manner and bosch one a piece-happy days, today is going to be our day I kept telling myself.
Second half we didn't seem to start well...please not a four hour car journey for a draw! Then whilst trying to roll a smoke, up I looked and saw Payney making a run across the box, and smash one past the keeper and into the back of the onion bag! YEAH YEAH YEAH today that's it job done.
It made the journey all more worth while, having taken away those 3 points.
Following the game the Sutton clan frequented numerous drinking establishments, throughout Falmouth.Consuming various ciders. lagers, and weird and strange tasting shots until the early hours of Sunday morning whilst singing 'I can't help falling in love with U's U's U's U's' in the pub!! Good times!
Positives-Greek not messing up my Tommy Kav haircut, Great result, good to see so many U's fans & last but not least cider.
Negatives-Ref, shocking decisions, and the security at Truro-looks like any idiot can ontain an S.I.A license these days!
That's all from Juan for now!!
United as one.

Terrific goal by Payne. Lots of things baffle me about football , including this. While watching a game as one of a crowd of a few hundred , in a ground that will hold a few thousand , how is it possible to get in so many arguments with stewards ?
In 53 seasons of watching football the only time i've ever spoken to a steward is when i say hello to those two nice chaps in the tunnel at half time at GGL.

Apologies for the spelling and grammer mistakes in my last post, but I decided to bring back a couple of bottles of Cornwalls finest export, which I'm now currently having a few sips of.

It is the difference with employing "bouncers" and stewards. Stewards are there to look after the crowd, "bouncers" are there to enforce their authority. Such a shame as it was not required at all. Anyway 3 points is all that matters, that and Stef getting 90 minutes and another goal.

I still don't get it.What is it exactly that you lot to do aggravate the locals ? You seem to get in bother at regular intervals.
It seems especially strange when it's people in their forties or even fifties having/causing problems.

Nothing at all.... local person-''are you local?'' us-''no, we aren't, we are here for a game of footie'' Local person-''oh, well seing as your not local, you're probably going to cause trouble'' Idiots with S.I.A licenses having no understanding or concept of actually dealing/ speaking to people! Just because they have it displayed on thier left tit, means they have the right to throw thier weight around...it's not a right to abuse the license, as an S.I.A license can be revoked at any time if a complaint is made to the S.I.A licensing authority, whilst an investigation is carried out!!
