What advantage? They bloody scored while being offside as per the laws of the game. What more advantage do you need?
As for the Torres incident, I agree that players (the minority) have brought this on themselves but a ref still has to be 100% sure before issuing a yellow for simulation, particularly when it is a second. Clattenburg got that so wrong and no I don't support CFC.

There is a reason for these linesmen making so many wrong decisions. It's because they are being asked to do the impossible. Often they guess in favour of the defenders as per Liverpool's disallowed goal at the weekend.
They don't have the benefit of six replays and a slide rule to prove that a forward , surrounded by a clutch of defenders , is six inches offside.
The rule is an outdated joke and should be changed. There should be no offside beyond the eighteen yard line.

Yeah, right. Forward stands in 18 yard box all match and rest of team just pump long balls to him/them. That would be progress.
Just watching the Arsenal game. They come back from 4-0 down to force extra-time but the lino missed the ball go over the line for the 4th & Arsenal were fortunate in that another player was there to fire home the rebound. Just too many errors being made by the officials at the moment. These guys are pros at the top level bt they seem to be getting worse.

Didn't need them tonight at Reading 7-5 to Arsenal aet. 4-0 down, 5-4 up then pegged back to 5-5 before scoring two goals in the last two mins of et. Amazing. Defending? There wasn't any.

What is the highest scoring Sutton game you've seen Mark ? I mean when both teams have scored a few.
I saw the 11-1 game against Clapton in 1966.Can you tell me the goalscorers please ? Not a quiz ! Just interested to know.

Not the highest scoring I've seen but you would definitely have enjoyed our 5-4 win at Dorchester a few years ago, Billy. Cracking game from start to finish.

Billy off the top of my head I think Larry Pritchard scored 4 or 5 that day.
I thought we lost 5-4 at Dorchester after being 4-2 up. Or is my brain really fading fast?

I thought we lost 5-4 at Dorchester after being 4-2 up. Or is my brain really fading fast? I remember that too! I think it was in the 2006/07 season. Perhaps the greatest comeback of all time was on 21 December 1957 when, with less than 30 minutes to go, Charlton were 5-1 down at home to Bill Shankly's Huddersfield and ended up winning 7-6!

9-3 (I thought Mark would have mentioned this one), March 81, after a 1-1 draw at Sutton in the Surrey Senior Cup. Memorable for the main with walking stick and Ray Sunnucks sulking about being asked to come on in the rain ! Larry did indeed score 5 in the 11-1 win over Clapton (Sept 66) and of course Mick Joyce grabbed 9 in the 11-1 win over Leatherhead (Nov 82, so coming up to the 30th anniversary).

Apart from Mick Joyce's nine goals, we registered SIX other hat-tricks in that 1982/3 season. Can you remember who scored them ?
