Another disciplined away performance from Sutton, keeping our third consecutive clean sheet on our travels and taking our chances when they came. Bromley have had some impressive results lately - including knocking Kidderminster out of the Trophy - but looked pretty ordinary today. Nevertheless there are no easy games at this level and we had to withstand some second half pressure - when Bromley created a few decent chances only to be let down by their shooting - before seeing the game out fairly comfortably.
The first goal was a present from the home keeper Joe Welch, although Marvin still had some work to do to slot home Harry O's header for his first league strike in Sutton colours. Given the number of goals we gifted opponnents early in the season, perhaps we were owed that one! For the second Harry B was allowed to turn twice with the ball in a crowded penalty area before burying his shot.
The three points take us back up to 13th where we were after the win at Dorchester. Salisbury next Saturday will be a sterner test of this steadliy improving Sutton side.

I've written my piece twice on here now & got kicked off. So, I'm not bothering again.
First competitive win against Bromley at Bromley since March 96.

Just watched the highlights 7 well done to BFC for getting them on o quick. Keepers error looks bad but Scrivs got away with picking the ball up outside the box late on.

First competitive win against Bromley at Bromley since March 96. Good point, Mark. Our record against Bromley in recent times has not been distinguished. Before today I believe our last competitive win over them was in April 1999, and that was at GGL as we closed in on the Ryman League title. So it was all the more satisfying to win there this afternoon.

All of the above really - MW man of the match - finally given a proper chance up front, and my word did he take it. The Bromley defence didn't know what to do with him. Same with Harry - I can see those two making a good partnership.
Again, I think the real winners were the defence again. Boateng had a great game, the centre back 3 were as solid as ever and Sammy R was unlucky not to get a goal himself.
Especially the first half, it was pretty much mostly Sutton - they were not set up for our attacking game - I think they thought we were coming for the draw.
For the first time since around the last 15min of the first game of the season, we don't have a negative goal difference. In the last 8 away games, only Dover have performed better than us, and we've only let 5 goals in! It's starting to come together.
I see that the SUFCTV twitter account has announced we've released Stefan Payne. After the injury Stefan got in the first minute of the first friendly, he struggled to regain form. Certainly to such an extent that he didn't look like the player we had previously. Going on current form rather than natural ability, if we had to get rid of one forward, it would probably have to be him. I wish him the best of luck wherever he ends up next.

I've just been poring over the Conference South table on Football Web Pages. After yesterday's win we've risen to 4th in the form table (based on the last six results) behind Welling, Salisbury and Dover - who just happen to occupy the top three places in the league table. We've only taken one point fewer than our next opponents Salisbury from the last six games (12 to their 13).
We've also now got the fifth best defensive record in the division (jointly with Salisbury on 24 goals conceded), although that's helped by having played fewer matches than most of the other sides. The flipside is that we've got the fourth worst scoring record (jointly with Truro on 24), so there's still plenty of scope for improvement.

Just to add the AA's post.
If we could find a win on Sat it would be the teams best run under Dos of 7 straight wins. We are currently tied with a run of 6 wins on the spin from ast season starting with a hoe win to B/wood and ending with a 2-0 victory at GGL v Havant.
