I am afraid being the better side for a proportion of the game and losing 3-0 will not get us out of this situation. Its when we can turn the good periods of play into GOALS and then holding on to get a positive result is when will see if there is enough to get us to safety. If there was an award for stating for the obvious... Scant consolation from today? From eastbourne mb: "Re: vs Sutton « Reply #8 on Today at 5:08pm »
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i thought that mcbean No7 would be a handful...best player on the pitch in the first half.IMO. 3 nil is a fantastic and astonishing scoreline considering all their possession and pace. well done hooky. "

Just to echo OS's & Andy K's comments, how can a side dominate like we did most of the game, yet finish 3-0 losers ? The 7, was, in fact, Jason Henry

Didn't deserve to lose today, let alone lose 3-0, but it just wasn't our day. I'd like to echo those comments about Jason Henry, have we found the best place for him? If only Watkins was 1/10 of an inch taller, than we would of been 1-0 up just before they scored their 1st. Still we've got to take the positives from today, and move forward to Tuesday.

Didn't go today but maybe Massey is the right man for the job.

I can't add much to earlier posts. We've played the top two away in consecutive weekends, looked the better side for most of each game, but lost both without notching a goal. Someone up there doesn't like us!
With Maidenhead winning today we're now six points adrift of safety.

There are just under thirty games left, if we keep playing as we are we'll be fine but we need to start collecting points sooner rather than later. We've scared the sh*t out of the top two now, albeit for no reward but still, luck changes. Cheers to my brother and Nick the Greek for pretty much providing my beer and aftershock (i think it was that) fund tonight Rock On.

mmm - pleased to hear reports of improved performances.
However, that is now 6 straight League defeats in which time we have scored just three goals.
Tuesday to double that tally of goals? Only the hum of traffic from the M25 to disturb the concentration!

Agree totally with all the above. Played the top two and should have got something out of both games, but lady luck deserts you when you are bottom of the league.
A couple of concerns. I attended half the match with an Eastbourne supporter, he used to come to Sutton when he live here but since he moved there has changed his allegiance. (how can people do that??) He told me that some of their supporters were saying we were one of the worst set of supporters they come across. (I thought WTF!!) Where did we get this reputation from??
The second was something said by one of our most loyal and longest serving supporters (is that the right way of saying it). They said that they had spoken to one of the club directors recently and said director told them that relegation to the Ryman League is what the board want, and where the club should be, as that was our level! The supporter concerned is not a fear munger but as I said is one of our loyalist fans of some standing at the club, and I'd say their credentials and integrity is unquestionable.
If the above is the case I think that it is time the board look at itself, and weed out any people who feel this way. I don't think the Chairman, Hon Sec. and Match Sec. feel this way, but some others I'm not so sure.
Perhaps this is not the medium to voice this kind of concern, but it is the only one that we've got. I know a lot of the Management / Directors read this forum and could a total denial be issued if the above is untrue.

Sorry Bob, you ought to know that is total b******s !
You kindly absolve myself and Bruce of any connection with such comments but I can assure you 100% that NEVER, in any Board or Management meeting or at any time within my ear-shot have I heard any club official ever express such an opinion.
This club should at the least be always challenging for a play-off place at this level. Nobody has a divine right to play at any level and we aren't complacent but we certainly disassociate ourselves from that view. From a personal point of view, if any Director ever said that to me then either he would have to resign or I would.

Thank you Dave, exactly what I wanted to here!! The director concerned I think may be classed as a bit of a wind up merchant, though I must say I'm not sure of this. As I said the information came from an impeccable source and I thought the question had to be asked. i knew what you'd say before I wrote as you have alluded to this kind of thing in the past mate, and have vehemently denied this exists. Again thanks for the swift reply!!

He told me that some of their supporters were saying we were one of the worst set of supporters they come across. (I thought WTF!!) Where did we get this reputation from?? Probably the same set of supporters who incite trouble and to which the home stewards do nothing about. Its the same every year at Eastbourne, where you have a collection of deliquents coming over to the sutton fans with the intent of causing trouble. If we are the worst set of supporters in the minds of a bunch of idiots who quite frankly dont deserve to be breathing the same air as us, I think I can live with that As we all know with many clubs in this divison, we are considered one of the best set of supporters in the league.
