Thank you Juan, although we aim to be as professional as we can be we do and will make mistakes. There are some errors in the 1st half footage which is more upsetting to me then the spelling mistake.
It should be remembered that it was costing Dos £150 a match a couple of seasons ago to get them filmed. It now costs nothing apart from what we owe that is. We have full match video for those who cannot get to the ground, and it is viewed all over the world. Although we produce free highlights for the fans we also do it to help the management and coaching staff. All 3 goals in fact every home goal we have conceded this season has been captured on video, and that means Dos, Mckimm, Telf's can look at them time and time again. It helps them put things right and I believe we will have more points at the end of the season because of the footage.
In that context although it is not good get MB's name spelling wrong, I hope it puts it into perspective?

In that perspective, no it shouldn't matter! We know our players we know our team, about time a few more people started to get behind the team, rather than against them. Yes I do understand that people are allowed their opinion on matters, but really a spelling mistake...shouldn't really make a difference, in the long run! To be fair if I was up until silly o 'clock in the morning I would have made more than one mistake-I think people need to understand and comprehend this is after all a FREE service, and whilst it is still being developed, people should appreciate it rather than pick holes in it for the sake of it!
With regards to the footage to Dos etc, I'm sure it all helps to see where we have been going wrong in order to improve.

Does it really matter, I mean really!! This Os fella gives you free highlights week in week out, spends his own time putting together these FREE highlights for people to see! If it was me , I would do away with it! The highlights after all are a FREE service for people that don't subscribe to watch the whole game! So perhaps instead of being so critical of the fact, that you are getting a free service, perhaps you should be a little more forgiving in the fact the spelling mistakes make no difference to the actual well worked footage! Too many people winge and moan at any/every possible chance at anything they can on this forum. About time people enjoyed it a tad more..... Juan Well said.

Well that's put me in my place hasn't it?
I'm not critical about the service and i'm not critical about the speed of delivery, and if you look back on this forum, I was very supportive about the quality of the filming.
On here I won't go on about people's spelling or grammar here. It's a forum, and therefore actually nope, it doesn't matter. On a free service which, as I said before, can be seen as an official product of the club is more of a matter because it can effect reputation. On a product which money is charged and there are mistakes like that, it has a worse effect. There's certainly at least one huge spelling mistake on one of the DVDs we've had in recent seasons - not a incorrect name, but one that made me wince when I read the closing credits.
I totally understand that it's a free service and yes it was done at silly o'clock, but I'm not the whole audience. The outward professional approach and reputation we give in all aspects of our outreach, and which is vital for our club and in terms of developing our audience. It may seem small, but if I noticed, I'm probably not the only one.
In this day and age audiences do expect a greater and greater level of professionalism. Whilst I can't fault the effort that goes into it and I do appreciate it, but others probably won't care for those reasons. People DO expect that, and its only those people close to it or read the explanations on here who will give those reasons a second thought. If you really want people to say "they couldn't be bothered to get that name right" or "this website looks really tinpot" or " then that's fine if you are happy with that. I certainly know when I've posted very constructive points about it, I've been totally dismissed.
If any of you above totally disagree with everything I've said, then I would say we have nothing further to discuss on the matter. But if not and you genuinely would like to talk to me anymore about this, I'd be very happy to.

Agree with Col. Find it utterly incomprehensible that someone is complaining about this. I am just very grateful to be able to enjoy highlights of a game I missed. TBH I wouldn't have even given the names a 2nd look, just glad to watch back the action. There is a place of course for constructive feedback but the manner and way it was put across was ill judged IMO. Thanks again to those putting in their own time both filming and editing, which most of us can't be bothered to do, to provide this fantastic service.

On here I won't go on about people's spelling or grammar here. Using 'here' twice in the same sentence? Tut, tut! ;D

Dunno about others, but my "criticism" was tongue-in-cheek and I made pains to ensure that was obvious.
However, if something is that easy to get right, then I don't see why we shouldn't get it right - it's not about us as Andy said, it's about a wider audience and even if you don't realise it, that sort of thing really can affect people's impressions of the product and even as us as a club. Would that it weren't so, but that's human nature for you. It does pay to listen to your critics if you're going to succeed, too. Not that you can't do well without, but it definitely helps.
Obviously it isn't the most important thing to get right, and I for one am glad that you guys are starting by getting the most important things right first and perhaps ironing out the creases later. That's understandable.

Maybe a PM or an email to OS about the mistake would have been the correct choice.

The guy from Hayes has just admitted missing out a whole player from yesterday's squad - I favour shooting him myself ?

Maybe a PM or an email to OS about the mistake would have been the correct choice. Agreed! OS, I think constructive criticism that's actually meant to help you is a lot more positive than shooting someone!

Juan Do not agree If one is to start neglecting errors made then society will fall further into anarchy It is essential that items are checked before publishing as with the match programme I have noticed many mistakes in recent issues

I do hope that you have your tongue firmly in your cheek as we really are in trouble if society can be destroyed by a simple spelling mistake. Perhaps we can have a disclaimer at the beginning of the highlights package which says "this FREE service is provided by volunteers and whilst all efforts are made to ensure the highest possible standards, we cannot guarantee that there will not be a misplaced comma or other heinous grammar crime. Anybody upset by such an incident should seek support at www.moreimportantthingstoworryabout.co.uk or www.getsomeperspective.org"
