.....there seems to be members of this forum. who derive more pleasure in pointing out other peoples errors, grammatical or spelling, than the actual content of the message, but each to their own. Lets raise our glasses (drink) and say a big thank you to all those supporters who spend their time and no doubt money, in making this great club what it is.

As I'm one of the people who has commented from "the other side," let me try and explain why we feel it's important.
If anyone has any suggestions about how constructive criticism can be made to help our products - with our club's name on them, that is, and so by extension our club itself - look more professional without people ridiculing those suggestions or becoming offended and making utterly ridiculous and disproportionate comments about them, I'd be grateful to know. The suggestion of emailing direct was, I think, a very good one. Even if you're just trying to help, it's easy for that to look like public criticism if it's on the forum and I can see why people might get offended by the way in which it's done, although I'm baffled as to why suggestions of how to improve something you're taking pride in are simply being shot down and mocked.
When I use a product that has a shoddy finish, hasn't been properly quality-checked or is otherwise not up to the standard I would expect, I tend to revise my opinion of its supplier in a downward direction. This is sometimes illogical, yes, because it doesn't always directly affect the function of the product itself. Unfortunately, however, this revision of opinion is pretty much completely unconscious. Human beings do tend to make unconscious value judgements in this way; having completed a degree in psychology I've seen a lot of research backing this up. I don't think this particular product is in any way shoddy or lacking in function - it is excellent - but some might feel that if people connected with a football club don't even know what their players are called, then perhaps they don't really know what they're doing. You know this isn't true and so do I, but sadly it's a fact of life. You already work incredibly hard for this so it doesn't have to be you doing the quality-checking. In fact it's better if you don't, because having created things ourselves, we tend to be too familiar with them to spot small errors so it's always best to get someone else to do it - especially if that part of it isn't your forte. I am a very good proof-reader and would be more than happy to look over anything that anyone at the club wants checked for spelling and grammar errors.

Cracking sketch. Mainly because it outlines the catastrophic over reaction to somebody pointing out that you should be able to spell the the names of players in your own team (the dirty fork).

Some of you may be interested to know that the Finnish word for pedant, "pilkunnussija," translates literally as "comma f***er"
