That's cheered me up. So the number of goals scored by sutton in the last 8 games is 0, 6, 0, 4, 0, 0, 0, 4. Either incredibly dull or incredibly entertaining. Which in itself is quite entertaining.

What a 2nd half performance superb passing football for once with the end product to go with it. In total contrast to the 1st where we dwelt on the ball gave it away too easily and looked in trouble every time the ball was played forward. Harry opened the scoring with a cross into the box that found its way through to a surprised keeper who reacted too late to stop our 1st goal in 4 odd hours. Then a corner to Ricay and a unmarked far post header levels the scores. 2 mins later Tom comes for a cross gets a palm to it, straight to Taylor who can't miss from a yard out. I feared the worse in the 2nd but we came out a different side with Beuts at the centre of most things good. We had width, we had movement, Marvs, Dennis and Benjemin all looked dangerous.
The penalty was a bit heart stopping the keeper failing to stop the ball going over the line by the smallest of margings. After a bit of ping pong in the Ricay box Marv touches CB's already goal bound shot over the line. The 4th was Beuts magic turning and slotting the ball home from about 10 yards.
We could have had more as Ricay simply faded away. The lads who came in tonight showed the future is bright and the 'Sutton Faithfull' found their voices- so all is well and well worth the trip.

After a bit of ping pong in the Ricay box CJ touches Marvs already goal bound shot over the line. By CJ I presume you mean Chris Benjamin? It was Chris' goalbound strike and Marvin's touch that probably made contact after the ball crossed the line, so I'd say CB's goal

Sounds like we responded well to the half time talk and got some goals at last. Well done lads, really pleased with this result! Hope we put in a good show Saturday!

For those regulars who decided not to (or couldn't) travel missed an entertaining evening on a muddy surface that actually played better than it looked it would. The homeside enjoyed alot of forward play in the first half but U's had their moments too with Jamie Folkes getting alot of joy down the right flank.
The first goal came from HarryB's driven ball into the box. It took a slight deflection and bounced up in front of the 'keeper, who could only help it into the net. The lead was short lived when Town equalised, exposing U's lack of height from a well delivered corner. They were 2-1 up a few mins later when Tom Lovelock, under pressure, got under a high ball and Charlie Taylor scored, although he made a right meal of an open goal.
Second half, U's came out with positive intent. The first change saw Dundo pushed forward and with Harry B superb on the left flank began to turn the screw. The 'keeper made a superb point blank stop fom Dundo, before the U's powerhouse was tripped in the box after some deft skill. His penalty looked to have been saved but the ball squeezed out from under the 'keeper spun back & hit him on the back before nestling in the net. Double figures for Dundo in the league.
The third came from great play down the right. Chris Benjamin hit a shot that wrong footed the 'keeper and crept over the line, Marvin Williams' touch coming when the goal had already been scored.
The fourth again came from more good play down the right, before HB produced a piece of sublime skill to shake of his marker and turn and bury the chance.
Billericay had no answer to the pace of U's attack. Good to see Ronnel Dennis get a start but was really impressed with young Daly at right back who did one superb piece of defensive work in the second half, and Kevant Serbony who came on as sub in the second. A first league goal for Chris Benjamin.
Obviously Dos was well pleased afterwards. I will leave his post match comments for Tony D to release. I won't reveal all he told me as he I would not want to betray a confidence but his actions of recent days were well explained and totally justified. One thing is for sure, his enthusiasm for our club is still the same as it was when he first joined and some of the doubters on here need to take a reality check IMO.
Tonight, he put faith in number of James Bracken's Suburban squad and they delivered. A sterner test awaits on saturday but if they show the same qualities as they did tonight, particulalry in the second half, it will be interesting.
As he walked past us late in the game tonight, a local asked us how come you're not at the top of the league? Such an observation rather says it all about a great 3pts tonight. Well done to all, so glad I took a 2 hour train & tube trip to get there.

Great response from Sutton, especially to come back from 2-1 down at half-time. The reserve players drafted in to the side did their prospects no harm, but it was the wing-play of James Folkes and Harry B that caught the eye. Folkes, having his best game so far in a Sutton shirt, was our main outlet in the first half. Harry, back to his best and scoring twice, enjoyed some terrific combination play with Sam Rents in the second.
Billericay, as expected, played direct football and were a threat in the air, but once our players started to run at the heart of their defence they began to creak. By the end they were starting to look like a pub team. They won the Ryman League last year but a swift return is now looking on the cards.

I picked the wrong match again! I went to see the last game under lights at Underhill, where Barnet beat Fleetwood Town 2-0. I haven't been there since my very first Sutton away trip, when the U's lost an FA Cup replay 3-1 in October 1967.

Nicely done. I wasn't there and this season I've missed a lot of Tuesday games, but it is great to see that the support given by those that go is appreciated. Well done Bruce and well done to those that travelled. Hopefully we can put last weekend behind us.
