I couldnt make the game last night because of work.
Missed Bromley due to work (4-3) and Billericay (4-2) but did make Truro (0.1) . I think I will have to invent some extra work for the next Tuesday matches to ensure that the rest of you get to see some entertaining football.

Interesting that the Chairman feels he has to make comments on away support on a routine away match. Got to admit i didn't go but a cold Tuesday night game in Billericay when we have virtually nothing to play for didn't feel me with enthusiasm.Looks like i missed a good match.

Indeed, I'm glad they were rewarded and our away support has always been good and certainly a lot better than at home.
(Wouldn't have added the note about their supporters' embarrassment personally but just my opinion!)

Maybe he just wanted to rather than feeling like he had to. After reading some of the negative comments on here in recent days if I was Chairman, I'd probably do the same.

The mood of the fans is always heavily influenced by the most recent result. After two home defeats most of us were feeling pretty low (or angry!) and might have been forgiven for not bothering with the trip to Billericay. Those who kept the faith, and were able to get there, were rewarded with a morale-boosting win.

To be frank games like last night are made more special after a poor run. The only problem is we want to savour it each week. Football can’t be that predictable and that is what makes it so unique.

Despite our league position last night was one of those games that I shall remember. There were doubters saying we were doomed etc but the lads who came in last night showed us that we may already have most of what we need at the club in the way of talent already. Its a shame its not on video for those who were not there, that second half was simply blinding. Its really good of Bruce to say what he said but in truth It wasn't needed.

I like this comment from their forum: ''I thought the sutton supporters & players were a nice bunch of guy's quite refreshing from some of the dross we have had of late.'' They don't have to put up with Billy

Well, after his recent post, nor do we now Stewart!!
As Chairman of the club, I think Bruce is entitled to write what he likes, when he likes & if it puts a few noses out of joint, so be it.
After some of the absolute garbage that has been written on here since Saturday, mostly because it is based on supposition not fact, last night was very refreshing. Even when we went 2-1 down the fans got behind the team and were rewarded with a great second half team performance. It may have been a meaningless game to some but certainly not to the players and management or those present. Personally, I've never watched a meaningless Sutton game in my life. Even our last trip to New Lodge I wanted a win, even though the league title had been won, collected and paraded.
One other plus for me last night was I got to see the Olympic Stadium for the first time (in the flesh as it were). It actually looked smaller than I thought it would. Work on the acquatic centre looks well advanced, with the high side seating now outside the main building and open to the elements.

An excellent and hugely enjoyable performance last night particularly in the second half when we drove at Billericay with real energy and invention. Great to watch.
Well done to all the players and Management team.
