I was gutted I had to miss this game but by the sound of it following on Twitter was the way forward!
There's always next season though... not that that's what I was saying in the pub upon seeing the final score!

Well I'm disappointed to lose but I have to say I'm suprised Godalming are still in D1C. Although they weren't a passing side their defence was fantastic and they got the one goal in attack from an error they needed, which was probably their gameplan. We were poor but after winning our last 9 games we can cut the players some slack.

The sad thing is we lost out on £1000. The really sad thing is we missed out on a trophy. The even sadder thing, no disrespect intended, was that it was to a side 2 levels below us. The thing even sadder than that was we lost without getting a shot on target!! The money is way down my list. Yes, still bitterly disappointed. At least we can banish this performance with the next game nice and quickly . . . oh.

We walked away from GGL gutted at the performance last night. For me we just didn't look like we were up for it at all, second best to the ball most of the game. I thought the second half may of started a revival of sorts but....still so disappointed.....

Don’t get me wrong I was very disappointed (and that’s being polite) about our performance and not winning the cup. But when you take a year to raise just under £3k for the club and you see your team squander a £1000 in 90 minutes because they were not prepared sufficiently for the game- you can start to understand why I’m gutted to lose that prize money.

Godalming did indeed edge it. I was at the game as a neutral supporter but stood amongst the Godalming fans. They were in good spirits and were vocal in their support. A little tip for the Sutton Utd board who make up ground regulations.....you will not encourage new supporters with your 'jobsworth' and out of date ground policies. I witnessed a young fan playing a drum and generally enjoying his match when a steward marched over and ticked him off for 'daring' to try and show support to his team. A few Godalming fans tried to reason with the steward who insisted that there was a noise restriction rule at the club! Absolute b''''''s. At this point an air horn could be heard coming from the Sutton end but the Steward struggled to hear that!! I have to give the GTFC credit for standing up to such a pathetic ruling. Cucumbers were also frowned upon as was banging on the fence. When this was also taken up with the fans they reasoned that if they can't bang a drum or fence, could they sing quietly so as not to upset the Sutton Utd hierachy! It was not a great game and I fear that Sutton Utd will struggle to attract new supporters with ground policies like that. Good luck to both teams for next season.

I think the fact that drums are banned from the ground is made pretty clear

As I said before I would have liked to have brought a drum to the game but was told that I wasn't allowed, something which just about everyone was relieved at. If there's nothing legally stopping us bringing drums in (Noise disturbing community or something like that) then maybe its something we should take a look at. I bet you if we put a poll on here though a lot of people will be against it!

Think the banning of drums is to do with the fact that we are smack bang in a residential area. Besides they are utter rubbish and very rarely add anything to an atmosphere at football. Hopefully we'll attract plenty of new support through good football and an improved ground over the next few years. Not sure many fans don't come back because an idiot can't bang a drum tunelessly for a game drowning out any sort of atmosphere created by a bit of chanting. I wonder how many Godalming have attracted in through having a drum at their games in recent years (presuming that it is regular)?!!
