Dos welcomes Jamie Taylor to GGL: On joining Sutton, Taylor added: “My girlfriend is expecting twins and she wanted to be closer to home so we came back from Lincoln. Commuting there just was not workable. “I spoke with a few clubs down here, but Paul (Doswell) said the right things, such as the club going in the right direction, and I decided it was the best place for me to be.”

As well as Binns being a good player, him playing for us means he can't tear our defence apart again!

Yep having Dale Binns is worth 2 goals to start with as he can't score against us A quality signing, but I wonder where Marv is going to play???

Cracking signings so far. Really looking forward to the pre season games.
In some ways, I am looking forward more to matches against teams a bit more like ourselves rather than the premier league under 21's as it may give us more idea as to how we are shaping up as a team/squad.

Looks like Dos is using every penny of the budget available. Quality players coming in, lets hope they hit it off together and we hit the new season running!

Looks like we're really going for it next season. This will be the strongest squad we've had at this level. Questions are being asked elsewhere about where our money is coming from!
Slabber will score the goals we've been lacking. My reservation about Binns is that, at 31, he's getting on a bit for a winger. But I'm sure Dos knows what he's doing.

I think if were potentially any other side then I'd question the money - some of these players won't have come cheap, and from what I gathered "Strikers are Key" certainly wasn't put in place to pay for Binns. But then we have Bruce as a chairman, who is as straight as they come and in no way whatsoever the kind to blow the budget in ways other clubs have in the past. And we also have Dos who has managed to sign some big names at this level for significantly less that they could have got at other clubs.
As has been said many times before, players probably prefer to be paid less and actually get it rather than be promised more and not get paid (as we have seen at 4 clubs last season at very least).
I think more of an issue will be keeping all these names happy - we've got 15 senior players and not all of them are going to play every game (barring Lovelock of course). But in a way, that's a much nicer problem to have than having a range of strikers not scoring goals like last season.

......perhaps the thinking is goals by the bucket load at or near the top of league, will attract more bums on seats. This path has been tried by many clubs in the past, sometimes its a winner. I am sure Bruce keeps a very good eye on the purse strings. We all know a decent cup run makes all the difference to a clubs finances over a season.
Looking forward to the start of the season with optimism.

I think it's fair to say we'll be in the top 5 of budgets this season.
Where's it coming from? Well, strikers are key is going a long way towards our front line, abbots are doing an excellent job that's generating good income, shirt sponsors, thriving social facilities.
I don't believe for a moment this club would be put at any risk or that we'd live beyond our means a la grays, histon, Weymouth, farnboro etc etc
Can't wait for things to get going again!! Has anyone asked the question yet? When are the fixtures out!!
In Bruce and Dos we trust
