SIX NEW SIGNINGS FOR BROMLEY Mark Goldberg, manager of Conference South club Bromley, has confirmed that Elliot Buchanan, Mike Jones, Warren McBean Danny Waldren and Joe Welch have all agreed terms ahead of the new campaign. Meanwhile, Goldberg remains very hopeful leading goal scorer Pierre Joseph-Dubois will accept terms offered to him by the club. Joining those key players will be Joe Anderson from Cambridge United, Alex Bentley from AFC Hornchurch, Jay May and Rob Swaine from Billericay Town and Shamir Mullings - a young prospect who has just been released by Southend United. Last but not least, Goldberg can also announce what he and the club believe to be a major capture, in the signing of much-sought-after midfielder Ashley Nichols from league rivals Dorchester Town. "I have admired Ashley for a number of years now, having been up against him on numerous occasions, and we are very happy as a club to have secured him for the new season,” said Goldberg. “We are delighted to have secured these players so far, especially Rob Swaine and Jay May who have caused us all sorts of problems playing against them in recent seasons, and despite not having the funds of certain counterparts in our league, we believe we are making the best use of our budget. I therefore hope the supporters work with us as we aim for an exciting season ahead. We continue to be in discussions with additional players to strengthen our squad for the new season." Nichols said: “I'm looking forward to next season. I've come to the club because of the manager’s commitment and enthusiasm for Bromley and what he is trying to do, which will hopefully give the players and supporters something to be excited about.”

Not surprised by Bricknell at all - there had been quite a bit of press saying he wasn't happy at Dover.
Pretty clear who the bookies favourites are going to be and who will be the team to beat. Chelmsford will also be up there but a bit of an unknown.
Eastleigh? Well they've not had a website for 6 weeks now. Can't say too much about their ambition!
The thing we have over the other big guns is continuity - same manager, same set up, mostly the same squad. We need to be very quick out of the blocks before those other big spending teams have a chance to settle.

I don't think Chelmo will be in contention this season as they simply don't have a team at present. Even if Deano puts together a decent bunch of players he has to get them to gel and we say how difficult that was for us last season. Eastleigh have been or appeared to be fairly quiet on the transfer front. Ebbsfleet will be strong but do seem to be becoming Dover Mk2 and they simply weren't good enough? Interesting comments from the Ebbsfleet manager: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22798932

Agreed can't see Chelmo being involved, especially given their first few signings. You never know though. I would probably wait until the signings have all been done before having a flutter but I'd expect front runners to be Eastleigh, with Fleet probably being up there if they spend more. Fleet are interesting though unproven manager and so far has picked off what he believes are Dover's best, wonder who else he can bring in to augment them? We have shown some ambition ourselves and it is clear we are going for promotion too (no point in spending the money we are if you are not) how the forwards gel with the nucleus of last season's side will go a long way to determine whether we can challenge. Kinnear at Dover would be working wonders if they are to challenge, he has to find and gel a whole new team virtually, I think he is a good manager but that seems very hard. And there could also be a side out there that surpises, can't think who though, Stortford manager has previous in this league. Oh and I forgot Brighton City, they've been fairly quiet to date, unknown how good the side that got them up will be at this level. Also big spenders so who may end up there?

I am surprised how quiet white hawk have been. Up to and including the fact that they can't even be arsed to change their website to their new name. Early days but I thought fleet would have been fishing for players in higher divisions with their much trumpeted budget. Sharp move getting all our business done nice and early.

One things for sure, its gonna be a much stronger league than last year which can only be a good thing as the gap between BSS and the conference needs to be reduced. No matter how good the squad Ebbsfleet are assembling, it will take them time to gel, and as we know a slow start in this league is pretty much game over for promotion. I really fancy us this year, to me the team we have is not far off Conference quality. Gotta feel sorry for Dover, they have the support to possibly sustain conf football once more and were very close but will need to find some decent strikers from somewhere.
Very interesting comments indeed on those BBC articles.

I think they need FA permission for the new name, which I'm not sure they've got yet. Or alternatively, the bloke who does the web is on holiday.

Whitehawk needed council and Brighton & Hove FC permission re name change. The latter refused so Whitehawk's name will not change.
