Good entertaining game to watch.I also think that Folkes or Rivs would make a better choice of right back.Nelson makes too many mistakes for my liking.Ali was superb in midfield running the show.

Not much to add. Scannell looked good, Taylor top quality. Obviously we got a lot of space when they went to 10 but hopefully we have the confidence to go on and do the same against 11 Saturday. Lots of positives, but still the odd howler chucked in at the back. Can't afford to give away goals.

Scannell looks the sort of quality winger we've been missing since Tony Taggart left. He's someone who can get past the full back using both pace and skill then produce a dangerous cross. He was very impressive in the first half, though did fade in the second before being subbed.

Dos was asking pretty early in the 2nd half how long he would last so must be short of match fitness, though I thought he had a full pre season at Eastleigh. Hope he proves to be better than Taggart who, whilst a good player, was nothing special in terms of output. Marv when on the wing also in my mind far exceeds Taggs' contributons. Great effort from him for the 2nd goal yesterday. Would also hope Binns is better wide player than Taggs!
Without putting too much pressure on Taylor he looks like he could be the best forward I've seen down the Lane for a long time!

Seems he doesn't know about our off field plans. Someone guide him to our website.

Not to mention the fact we've developed the odd player over the years.

"Not that Gayle was impressed. "If I had a budget of between £10,000-12,000 a week, it would attract all kind of mercenaries.
"I'm not like that. We're not a club that can attract any old, or young, player, to come in. That's what you find in this league.
"Wherever there is a big pot of money, you will find players will get drawn to it. No disrespect to Sutton, when you stand and look around, you see where they throw their money. It's all on the pitch, it's not the surroundings. "
I would disregard all of that, maybe misquoted or caught at a bad time following defeat.

Mr Gayle has no idea about our history and why would he? He comes from the Football League, albeit, mainly Wimbledon and they didn't even have their own ground.
And he wouldn't have gone near Wheatsheaf Lane before Alan Boon changed the place; it was a sh*t hole and Staines even got relegated in the 1980's because of it. That said, it's not that great now. Nice new stand and bar with a leisure club but it is a pokey place with little room behind the goals.
I believe we have Conference grading: does Staines?
I know he was in a bad place after the game but he should concentrate on his club rather than having a dig at us. We're not a rich club but by being prudent over many years, having a decent cup run, Dos sponsorship contacts, the fans dipping into their pockets and of course Boom Boom, we are where we are. This hasn't happened over night.
Maybe he was misquoted but I suspect the sentiment was still there. And it wasn't just one player anyway. Theophanus challenge on Tom Lovelock at the end was a disgrace and they had others booked for fouls too.
One thing though. At least his comment on the sending off throws scorn upon the idiot on their board who said it wasn't a red. Cretin.
If he doesn't like the league then go to the Ryman. This is the top of the NL game as The Conf Prem is not non-league anymore and hasn't been for some while. So, I'm afraid there will be money swishing around and a darn sight more than SUFC have got as well.
Rant over ha ha

Seems like a good solid win. Still in Spain for the Stortford game but I will travel to Concord on Monday. Btw it seems the 'Johnnie1 formula' for predicting never fails!
