Exceptional performance in front of a thousand plus crowd on the family fun day If this doesn't bring some of them back for more I don't know what will. Don't be fooled by the score line. Sutton were so dominant and created enough clear cut chances to run out winners by six or seven let alone the four we ended up with. We were at it from the off. Slabs and JT both started with binnsy dropping in at left back to cover for rents who i assume must have picked up a knock. JT opened the scoring with a sublime finish from out on the right that curled over the keeper and into the net. Second goal was his as well. Their keeper cocked up and the ball bounced over his head with Jamie happy to collect it and slot it home. Mitch and Deano could both have buried clear cut chances as we kept pushing. Be clear, Eastbourne are a form side and well rated but we had them chasing shadows as we went in two up at the break. JT went off after taking a knock which we can only hope isn't too serious but that only brought Kane on and second half he was exceptional and caused total chaos throughout. As he always does he got a goal after some great work by macca and his own peristence. Deano mac wrapped it up with a superbly taken fourth. Everyone of our boys was on it today. No need to pick a motm Hopefully we will be full strength for next weeks tough game at lewes. We will need to play at today's tempo and intensity to keep the run going and the cash flowing. Can't wait to be honest.

Sensational performance, I would rate that amongst the most fluent displays I have seen from a Sutton side, everyone seemed on the same wavelength with some excellent pass and move football. We just tore them apart for 90 minutes, really not what I was expecting! Back four was superb except for two lapses, tactics were spot on and the oppo could not cope with our slick play on a fine surface. Wins against Bromley and Eastleigh at home and we will be looking like real contenders.

Very very good. Creating lots going forward and with Downer back and immense not too much given away (couple of scuffed chances aside if we are being super critical, Tom only had one save straightforward I think). We are looking very strong. Big games coming up starting with the FA Cup, hopefully we can keep working hard and playing with this confidence. Hope the new watchers enjoyed it and come back.

A superb game. Great having the first choice front two available. Dundo can always be relied upon to keep driving the team forward, great seeing Downer back. The defence generally very good reading the play in front of them. I can't remember seeing too many better all round performances since the halcyon early-mid 90s period that gave me so much pleasure when I first started regularly attending Sutton matches. Hopefully today will have a very positive impact on attendances. The team have set a very high standard, a big challenge to replicate that skill, effort and desire over the coming months

At times this afternoon, we were absolute class. Dunno if Billy bothered but sorry that would have been £12 well spent.
The first half in particular was at times outstanding. The two Jamie's starting a fixture together for the first time since the first pre-season meant young Kane dropped to the bench. A bit harsh on him but boy the two Jamie's were excellent. The movement of JT along with Dean Mac and Binnsy getting in the box from the left back position just pulled a normally tight Boro defence apart. With Rivs and Dundo surging forward and Ali sitting and giving the lads went forward with so much purpose that they carved out chance after chance and should have been 4 up at ht rather than 2.
For their part Boro came to GGL and unlike some sides did knock the ball around but when they did pose a threat U's were solid at the back with returning SD in excellent, combative form. However, perhaps that was the visitors' downfall because they were just nowhere near as good as we were at the passing & movement game. Their no 11 looked sharp.
The first goal I thought was going to drop onto the top of the net, not in it! Goal of the season contender for Mr T. The second thanks to a great flick on by Slabs, a total misjudgment by their 'keeper and cool finishing from JT.
Mitchell Nelson missed a great headed opportunity, Mac should have scored after a superb move with Binns predominant and he curled another good chance just wide.
JT's day came to an abrupt end though when he fouled an opponent , got booked and had to go off injured. Hope he is gonna be ok, because we really do look great when he is on song. Admirable as it is to see a forward "taking one for the team", I'd rather they leave that to others.
Still young Kane came on and got the 3rd goal after the break (what a piece of skill from Slabs to set the chance up) to settle the contest and Mac finally registered with what was a superb strike into the corner. And did he enjoy it!
4-0 against a more than adequate and in form Boro side is an excellent return for 90 mins of endeavour. The whole team played well plus the subs. Good to see Folkes back, a likeable character who brings width on the right flank to the squad.
Difficult to pick a MOM but I see SD got the nod and he was impressive on his return. To think the squad was missing Marv, Cloughie and Sam Rents today.
Great to see Mitchell Nelson continue his fine form of recent weeks too.
The only downside was the three cautions, two of which were avoidable really but at least they were all fouls oh and of course losing JT.
Beginning to gel really well now with the whole squad performing to a high standard.
Lewes finally lost today, albeit at Champion Hill. Next week will be tough but if we can repeat today's form it will be more than interesting and very entertaining.

The team is certainly clicking now after a stuttering start to the season. As others have said, Eastbourne are a decent side but we made them look quite ordinary.
It's worth pointing out that we kept a clean sheet despite fielding a bit of a makeshift defence today, with Clough suspended and Binns filling in for Rents at FB. We adopted a diamond formation in midfield, with Fuseini sitting in front of the back four, McDonald just behind the strikers, and Rivs and Dundo in between. Although we had no wingers, Binns and Nelson were pushing forward dangerously. But the first half was the Jamie Taylor show as he scored two clinical goals then injured himself making a rash challenge as Eastbourne broke into our half. By then we'd lost some impetus but regained it in the second half with sub Haysman and McDonald adding two more well worked goals.
The win takes us up to third, and we've closed the gap on Eastleigh and Bromley. Things are looking good.

Our 3rd "Big" win of the season (winning by 3 goals or more) - the difference to me compared to the Staines and Havant games were that Staines were weak when they came here, Havant didn't turn up for the 2nd half, but today we face a good side (some of their movement when they had it was good) but they were put to the sword by a Sutton side showing the potential of their squad - first time in a very long time that I could honestly say that all 11 players (and the subs) had a good game. Really good to see Nelson showing what he can do - nearly scored twice, esp with a cracking freekick. What was also evident to me too is that it's the first time it was really obvious that it was a team playing for each other rather lots of good individuals. It really bodes well for the next few weeks.
Really hard to say a MOM really, but the official choice of Downer was a good one, esp as it was his first game back after injury. Taylor is a class above and is living up to Dos's description "The Non League Michael Owen" - I do hope however that analogy doesn't extend to an industry record.
Now up to 3rd. 5 points behind leaders Eastleigh. 2nd Highest scorers in the league. 3rd best Defence.
Our next 4 games - Gosport, and then we have 3 possibly season defining games - Bromley, Weston and Eastleigh. Currently teams in 2nd, 5th and 1st (although winning at Lewes next week will cause a deferred Weston game). With form like we showed today, and a cleaner bill of health of injuries, we're doing everything right, and should fear no one at the moment.
Superb, and yet another day to be proud as a Sutton supporter.

Fantastic in all departments. Really enjoyed the game and I'm sure that most of the 1000 people there would have enjoyed it just as much. Hopefully we can carry this form through to the FA Cup, 4 clean sheets in a row is very good and hopefully we can make it 5 at Lewes.

WOW! we were simply awesome today, 4-0 only just about does justice to the match as it could have been double that. The football at times was scintillating and not often seen in our league, the running, movement and passing was top class. If that's how well we play the diamond formation then as 007 said 'diamonds are forever'! Not sure how to pick a MOTM because all 11 +subs put in a 10/10 performance today, if only Mitch had scored :-) I think SD and JS did a magnificent job at the back allowing Bins and Mitch to get forward much of the time and keeping the EBFC attack in their pocket all afternoon. Eastbourne fans saying we are the best they have seen not only this season but for many seasons and I am not going to argue. I think the video footage will confirm that Jamie T's goal was due to a deflection just as he went to lift one back in to the far post. The 3rd goal buildup included a Dale back heel on the edge of the box which completely foxed the EB defence, and although relied on a bit of luck the move was well deserving of a goal. I think other teams will learn from today that if you play open against us you will get nothing, and I suspect we may start to see a few sides sitting back. I got to say well down to Steve, Tony and John etc for their work on the fun day, and if that doesn't get people coming back nothing will

It was Dean Mac's back heel, Binnsy's thumping cross, Slabs brilliance in controlling and Kane's perseverance and finish.

This was a very good performance, but it certainly wasn't up there with, say, the 5-0 v Salisbury two years ago.
