It was more about the fluency. Its very rare that the passing and interplay is so excellent at our level, i know we do try but it doesnt usually come off as well as that. Not only do the players off the ball need to make the right runs but the player on the ball has to spot the right pass and we did that again and again yesterday. My motm was Binns as he was a constant threat and made some superb runs. With no wide midfielders it was vital that the wing/full backs got into the game and boy did they! Will be interesting to see if Dos goes back to using wingers when he gets some bodies back. It would be difficult to justify, as our midfield diamond absolutely bossed the game. SD was immense as already mentioned, another very very tough decision for Dos with Clough back, what do other folk think he'll do in the next few games?

When everyone is fit, picking an Xl will be far from easy. Sutton could put out two decent Xls at the moment - in spite of recently releasing Benjamin, Murrell-Williamson and Serbony.

Downer is in our first choice line up, no doubts. Lots of midfield options which to me is where the more difficult decisions are.

If you beat a good side 4-0 you don't change the side. I think Dos has said he won't change a winning team. Players have to play well to ensure they get picked as they know there is competition for all positions. Providing they are all fit, I believe it will be the same starting team next weekend.

I am not sure I 100% agree, its horses for courses and playing against 2 banks of 4 maybe a little different or a side that has a ariel threat away from home may require the likes of Charlie and SD as CB's.

We can definitely change up the side as required. Helps keep things fresh. TBH as well as Mitchell has come back from his start with us I still wouldn't be surprised to see Downer at right back. Given the injuries we keep picking up we arent getting these difficult choices in any case! Was JT's injury a recurrence do we know? We could really do with having him on board for a run of games. How long is Rents expected to be out?

...reading the Eastbourne Forum, must say they were very generous in the their praise for Suttons performance yesterday, saying that we were the best team they played so far this seaon.
Had to smile when it was suggested that some of our players are on £1000 a week, who starts theses rumours or is it?
Looking forward to trip to Lewes on Saturday, we will need to win to help pay wages!!! Joke!!!

Well they know now. What an outrageous claim.

Yes. I saw that claim that we are just another bunch of big time Charlie's. Had to laugh at that but I can understand why eastbourne are lobbing a bit of silliness about having taken such a shoeing. it's a pretty natural reaction when you have been comprehensively outclassed to blame it on economics regardless of the facts. I expect and hope we will see more of it this season to be honest if we really hit our straps as it would be just a measure of our success. Marcus gayle kicked it all off after Staines got spanked. Others clutching at straws will be happy to follow. Good luck to em.

There'll be some interesting decisions to make for Lewes, especially if Jamie T and Sam Rents are fit. Mitchell Nelson is now showing why Dos signed him, which cuts down on James Foulkes options. Downer and Stuart surely have to stay the centre back pairing, which is tough on Charlie but will point out the danger of picking Up suspensions. And unless Lewes have a wide right player they have been keeping under wraps, I'd want to keep Dale at left back.
So I think I agree with Stewart that you can't change a team that has put on such a good performance unless you're forced to. Incidentally I also wary of the "horses for courses" approach - if you aim to be champions, you should set your stall out on how you want to play and it is up to the other team to find a way to deal with it.

Do you really think that if he's fit, Dos is going to drop skip? He has been superb this season. No Dos won't do that and I don't disagree entirely with the idea you do not change a winning team. But other teams will see how we play and look to counter it, if it was me playing us I would pack the midfield and get the ball over the top in to the channels and try to get freekicks and get big lads in the box. All I am saying is that we may need Charlie in there as well as SD to counter that sortvof threat? But agree its difficult and that is what Dos isn't paid for In fact it was SD himself who told me 2 banks of 4 that just sit and wait to break on you is the worst system to play against.

He will surely need resting at some points at his age. There is no chance Clough has been signed to warm the bench. And also no chance IMO that Binns' long term future is at left back either. We'll need them all no doubt and good options for Dos and his team to sort through.

He may need a rest at some stage but if he's fit - he did take a knock late on yesterday - I can't see him not playing next week.

I would expect to see us go with three centre backs at some point this season, but obviously not while we are playing so well. For now Dos's toughest choice is whether to move SD to right back or keep Nelson, who was excellent BUT we are ignoring the fact (unless I am mistaken - I was at the other end) he made another bad mistake that lead to Eastbourne's only clear cut chance. Still, no one could blame Dos for naming the same 11 and the same formation, I think I would.
