From what I've observed in the past few years, it really is just a tiny minority of their fans stoking a fire that went out a while ago. Trips there in recent years (and here) have been largely incident free affairs.
Don't take the bait of one or two idiots - makes us no better than them.

Interestingly I spoke to a mate of mine today who is a Bromley fan and he says that some Bromley fans won't be coming to the game because of the physical threats they received last time from a couple of Sutton fans. He said it happened under the covered terracing near the half way line.
I told him I was shocked at this as I've never seen any trouble and certainly don't know any troublemakers at Sutton. Incidentally that's where I normally stand although I was unable to attend the last Sutton/Bromley game.

Oh dear, and I thought Bromley had grown out of this years ago.
I remember the rivalry was pretty fierce in the '90s. They used to write us such lovely poetry.

Actually remember a couple of young blokes who had stayed 'wrong end' I'd imagine to wind us up got marched off to go to the rest of their support. I know not the facts as to why or how it happened but remember them being sent on their way! This may or may not be these gents.

Don't take the bait of one or two idiots - makes us no better than them. Don't see too much wrong with what has been said, clearly just stoking their fans up. A bit of rivalry's fine as long as it is kept good natured. Most non league fans tend to keep the right side of the line. Do remember times at Bromley when I was young that it probably was a bit horrible but they don't seem to have that about them now.

I recall that incident (I assume it was the same one) from two seasons ago. One of our fans did lose his rag with them and I believe made a threat. But it was all defused pretty quickly and our stewards moved the provocative youngsters to the other end.

Best yet on their forum is the bloke who claims that we deliberately delayed the calling off of last years Boxing Day game so we could milk them dry in the club bar. Now that really is pure, certifiable paranoia and absolutely bloody hilarious. Just to be clear. We also raised the price of petrol, rail fares and pasties that day to really rub their snouts in it because not only do we control the refs, the weather and the metropolitan police but also the chancellor of the exchequer as well. Feel the power.

Ignorance to the extreme thinking that "We" could call off games. Referees do that.

If it's the game I'm thinking of while they were in the bar they wouldn't have seen the dozen or so home supporters shovelling sand and forking the pitch as requested by our club to try to get the game on. Both managers had to agree to play and it was MG who didn't want to play on it.

I thought the quote was about us being the most sanctimonious fans in NL football, not smug.
That thread on the Bromley board is typical of the chip on their shoulder when it comes to SUFC. For me, and most Sutton fans, Bromley are just another club. Especially now that their support isn't the same as it was 9 years ago. Tomorrow is a big game, but only because of league placings. I'm looking forward to it.
