There is absolutely nothing wrong with splitting an infinitive or using the same word twice in a sentence to emphasise a point. Personally, I wouldn't use the Oxford comma before "or proof," but that's a matter of personal preference and style. I give Nick an A

Another match preview can be found HEREThis amuses me greatly. A club that came out in public with obscene spending figures and still we're referred to as the big spenders. Makes me laugh. What was obscene about them? We were looking at a budget of c£8K per week, and whilst a transfer budget of £100K was quoted, only 1 player cost us a fee and that only amounted to £13K. Money has been spent primarily on sorting the initial debt issues, the ground, and in providing lower entry costs for the fans, as well as subsidised coach travel. There is certainly at least 1 other club spending more than we are and possibly 2 or 3 others as well - not sure of your budget, so cant comment if you would be one of those or not, but eitherb way the press reports calling us a Mini Monaco were somewhat exaggerated.

Not particularly I'm just not a dinosaur. Things move on. The only reason some people thought you shouldn't split infinitives was that they are single words in Latin, and if you can't do it in Latin then you shouldn't do it in English. If you apply that rule consistently then you generally shouldn't use pronouns, you should always put the verb at the end of the sentence and you shouldn't capitalise the first word in a sentence. Also, you should be using 7 different noun declensions instead of the paltry 2 that you are currently using...and those don't count, because they are only used for pronouns. I could go on...

Still puts you as one of the biggest spenders in the league £13k on that one player (McMahon) is certainly more than most sides have paid for a player this season, and more than we have on all our signings this season. And going on his reputation he's certainly playing for more than a couple of packs of peanuts a week. Either way I think both you (and us for sure) are a way behind how much Beastleigh are paying. Their investors want success so that they can move to a different ground and sell what is a prime location for a lot of dosh. It's a Truro waiting to happen...

Sorry its a bit late. Can't make this one sadly, but even if I could I would be certain the game would be called off just after I arrive!

Couldn't give a toss what they've spent on players. Have they spent much on drainage?

Just 18miles from the ground it is blowing a gale here which could save us? Rain due to hit in the early hours so its fingers crossed?

We apparently looked at Fleetwood pre season, but he was well out of our range. McMahon apparently took a pay cut to come to us, though, so Dover were paying more (although we cant be certain on that of course).

Couldn't give a toss what they've spent on players. Have they spent much on drainage? The pitch has been relaid and the drainage is much improved. You will also see the difference in the roofs - when you last came, they were probably just starting to disintegrate and for may years you got a shower of rust when the ball landed on it, or got a soaking from the holes/ leaky guttering. That issue, thanks to the new owners, no longer exists and you will be able to stay dry and rust free under the Stonebridge Road stand.
