There will be a party atmosphere tomorrow, therefore it will be important the U’s start well and get the crowd onside from the start. Club preview below. suttonunited.net/news.php

Yes an important day. Let's hope we can produce a great atmosphere for 90 minutes like one of our FA Cup away days and show everyone what the club is about. Hope the people of Sutton turn out in force and the players produce a good performance.

Good win against a very poor side. Gavin McCallum had a great game for the U's. Not a great performance but you can't complain after a four nil win

What a fantastic day! Not only was the performance on the pitch fantastic, but it was clear to see the fun day has been perfectly organised, and the attendance of 2172 was a good reward for this. Extremely proud to be a Sutton United fan, well done everybody!

I just watched a couple of guys I'd never seen before leaving the ground with 4 or 5 kids. One of the men asked "So kids did you enjoy today?" All the kids went bananas, screaming yes at the top of their voices. The other guy went "hands up who's a Sutton United fan" and all hands went up with more enthusiastic vocalisations!
So well done all who helped today happen. This is the next generation of Us fans.

Firstly, well done to all for today's initiative and then for executing it to record a 2k plus crowd. Let's hope some newcomers will return after enjoying U's first half performance that produced three lovely goals against a below par Basingstoke side.
Scanners opener was the result of some great link up play that originated from a throw-in and his finish was gorgeous. The second goal came after a lovely bit of control by Scanners and his cross was pounced upon my Gav. Gav's second came after outstanding work by JT set him up with a tap in. JT was close with a couple of fine efforts and the only blot on the half was Binnsy's yellow card.
U's remained in control in the second half if not looking as threatening. Then came Binnsy's second yellow. Could the ref had shown restraint? probably not if he had an assessor in the stand but after that the man in black's performance dipped alarmingly, his lack of consistency amplified when he caution Lee Sawyer after giving a 'Stoke player just a warning for a similar tackle and giving free-kicks where there seemed to be none.
Even with ten men U's were still superior to their opponents and Gav marked his MOM performance with a lovely cross which Sincs met with flick of his head into the corner. Basingstoke had two goals chalked off but offered little threat as Sutton dominated all over the pitch and was great value for the 4-0 win. Micky S had an assured debut and showed great vision with some fine passing.
Fortunately, Binnsy will not miss either of the games that Cloughie will miss.
All in all a great day at GGL and with Bromley losing their 4th in a row what was a 20 point gap could be down to 1 should we win our game in hand. It's Eastleigh's title to blow now.

Fantastic afternoon - so pleased that all the hard work to promote the game resulted in a 2,000+ crowd. 4-0 win will hopefully persuade a fair few to come back. I like to think that the 'pay what you like' buckets collected a decent amount.

Great day all round - getting over 2000 for a game is amazing, even if it was free (Both Eastleigh and Farnborough have given free game entrance this season, and they've both only just got half of what we had today). I think we'd make a couple of new fans too!
As for the football, it certainly did feel like a pre-season friendly to start off with, with the crowd and the weather. Only one side turned up today - I thought Basingstoke's gameplan was a classic park the bus, but thanks to a terrific early goal they couldn't do that, and certainly struggled with the pace of our attack all afternoon. And to top it all we've finally seen the McCallum we all remember from Dos's first season and shows what a class act he is - his play with Scannell today showed a real understanding between the two of them.
I think like many fans, I can't wait for the next game! Good work one and all!
