I don't think that we were quite on our game yesterday. Our passing was the worst i've seen all season and that certainly didn't help.Nice to score early but we seemed to go in to cruise control after that.We can play better & need to on Saturday if we are to progress.A level pitch will help.

I thought the pitch was excellent. Possibly not a coincidence that our passing went astray given the opponents and how little space they leave and how hard they work defensively? Would like to see us switch the play a lot more/better and stretch them on Saturday. Get Micky on the ball throughout rather than just last 20.

I agree some of the pass selections were poor. It will be interesting to see who plays upfront on Saturday, Taylor and Dundas would be my preferred starting two.

Yes Dundo should start up top. We really bossed the last 20 and he did a good job holding the ball up and causing the giant CB's some trouble. definitely a fair result, Dover gave us no space to get in behind them but we are the fitter side as shown by that last 20.

Without wanting to single players out and taking into account how organised Dover are at the back, I though both Scannell and Marv when he came on were pretty ineffective down the left side in particular. It just seemed that overall our shape up from was quite disjointed.
One player I though who had a good game (and a few will probably disagree) was Lee Sawyer. Bearing in mind he's not playing in his natural position, I think he did a sterling job.

Yep agree with you there - thought Sawyer and the always-dependable Clough were our star performers last night.
Looking forward to Saturdays second leg where I feel we need to up our level a notch to beat Dover who seem difficult to beat despite being so technically poor and very agriculture in their approach.

Agreed re. Sawyer. Dundo really is magnificent, moving from midfield to up top (and often back again) seamlessly time and again. Can't be too many like him. If we had 2 of him the league would be won by Christmas!!

One fan standing nearby me in the first half thought he was below par (to be generous) Just shows you how we see this differently.

This season we've looked most dangerous when the slick inter-passing between Damo, JT and Gavin is working well. We're lucky that we have a plan B, which is to put Dundo up front, particularly effective for the last 20 minutes when the opposition defenders are starting to tire. So I'd start with the first three up front (with Binnsy at fullback) and see how it goes before invoking plan B. I would like JT to play a bit further forward though, he's the best chance converter we have but too often he's not in the box when the ball comes in. All IMO of course.

Good to see how that one fan disagrees with both me, a few others here, and Dos... www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/sport/11186476.Sutton_United_boss_Doswell_and_the_footballing_gods/

Just read this report, but what caught my eye is the picture with it. We may play in amber/yellow but that ain't the mighty U's in the picture!
