Just read this report, but what caught my eye is the picture with it. We may play in amber/yellow but that ain't the mighty U's in the picture! Yep, great work with the picture , from the Dover Express there ! After all, our kit looks the same as Eastbourne's...

Greetings
Dover supporter here
Thought it was an entertaining game last night and your team certainly played their part. Certainly looking forward to Saturday and think it will be close.
I missed your goal unfortunately as I was still in the outside queue trying to get a cup of tea, only took 20 minutes ! Goodness knows what you guys thought of the very poor catering facilities at our ground. Apparently our Chairman does not think it is financially viable to open the other catering outlet and really does not give a toss about the supporters/customers.
When you scored so early we feared you would go on and hammer us, but, I think we did well not to concede another goal and give you a good game.
Ebbsfleet look like they are through and there is some recent history between our two clubs, mainly on their part. Perhaps its going to pan out that we meet them in the final
Cheers

A tight and tense affair last night as you would expect with the two best defences in the CS this season coming up against each other.
I think KBB and I were the only U's fans behind the goal when Dover's defence all got attracted to the ball and allowed Scanners cross to find Dundo unmarked to power home that header. JT was right behind him.
They looked all at sea for a while after that but we couldn't get a second and Dover got their shape back and banged the ball into the channels and particularly down the right to Modeste who gave Ben King a tough 45 mins. Even so, he did get booked for diving, frustrated by being snuffed out by a fine challenge. That got the Dover moaners going for sure.
Their equaliser was a disappointment. We conceded an unnecessary throwing and of course they scored from it. That gee'd them up and they were more on their game in the second; that being to squeeze the life out of U's when we were in possession and again look for the channels. JB made one fine save and a more regulation one to keep the scores level and late on U's got back on top. So, 1-1 was about right on the night and a word for Mr Rock who had a pretty good game overall, although Kane was brought down dangerously close (possibly in) the box in the first half and their skip should have had an early yellow for his late tackle on Scanners.
U's defended pretty well with Cloughie and Downer dominant and Lee Sawyer had a great second half, driving forward when he could and made one excellent sliding challenge. I just wished we'd tried to play more on the higher flank in the first half rather than switching it to our left wing. In the league game, Kane Haysman got a lot of joy down the right and I didn't think we used that avenue enough.
It was always going to be tough and now the best away record in the league visits one of the best home for what is in effect a one-off cup tie. Who will prevail? Not sure I would want to make a call on that after last night but let's hope it is the purer footballing side who do, although, as has been often observed, there are more ways than one to win a football match. And Mr Kinnear is certainly aware of that it would seem.

I agree.Dover's catering facilities are the worst in the Conference south.Definetly need another outlet open with a crowd that size!

I agree with Delboy - such a shame that a nice ground with decent fans are let down by atrocious catering facilities. Everytime I've been there it's been one thing or another. Aside from the queue which is shocking, every time they've got my order wrong, I got short changed this time. And the homemade pies are never there. The queue however is unacceptable. One of our fans in a yellow wig last night spent 35 of the 45 mins of the second half queueing for just a cup of tea.

Greetings
unfortunately the Dover Chairman, his family and cronies put more value on thuggish security staff, control boxes and hatched yellow lines than actually making those who have paid good money welcome to Crabble. On Wednesday evening there were just two people serving for what everyone knew would be em largest crowd of the season. The hypocrisy is hi lighted by the claim that Dover Athletic is a community football club, my arse.
an example of the above is that the Chairman will not allow the local men's Sunday league finals to be played at Crabble, these guys have to play their finals in another town or village rec.
The Chairman runs the club as a dictatorship and he and his family have the PR skills of Putin !
sorry to kind of hi jack your forum so onto Football again. Most impress with your centre back Clough I think his name is, especially his distribution. He was a bit bracketed near the end though when Nathan Elder out sprinted him. Really looking forward to Saturday, never been to GGL and have followed Dover for over 40 years. Put the tea on please ;-))

The catering facilities at Crabble are a disgrace. I saw one bloke putting up a tent in the queue for a slipper. He's probably still there.

You can be sure you won't have to wait anything like the time you'd spend at Crabble waiting for a cuppa! Hope you enjoy your visit to GGL, just not too much
