It was mentioned to me by others that our supporters were rather quiet today. However if the team is not performing on the pitch ,that often happens.

The difference there is that in the players' case it is their job, which they are paid to do.
Criticising people for not doing something to your liking (not you Delboy) that they're doing in the first place because they want to support a cause is not on. Whilst the players are paid for what they do, we spend an absolute fortune between us following Sutton.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with rallying up a bit of support and encouraging each other to get together and get behind the team. I think that's great.
Having a go at other supporters for not supporting our team in the way you think we should is always going to be divisive and not at all constructive.

Maybe if people were as noisy on the terraces as they are the internet then we'd be fine.
It's the same people making noise, every game, and it's the same people saying we're quiet whilst being nowhere near the noise on the match day.
Whether it's a huge play off game like today or a normal September Tuesday night game it's always the same.
You've every right to support the team however you want but when the noise starts it's always me, Jared, Gareth, Sal, Taz etc or some of the young lads trying their best.
It's never the busy twats who chirp up on here to say we were quiet.
If you want it to be noisy, have a Flipping go at starting it yourself before you slag off others.
And today, it went quiet after seventy minutes or so because what was being served up on the pitch was awful.

Couldn't agree more with you and Nick. Some people seem to think there's a group of people whose job it is to make noise, forgetting that they're also there for the same reasons: to watch football and support Sutton.
As Nick also says, it's fine if you don't want to be a loud fan. Not everyone has it in their nature or enjoys it. But telling others they should do it better just because you would like it even though you dont do it yourself is a little rude. I'm not talking about any particular individuals.

The Sutton fans were rubbish, quiet and nervous. The Dover fans sung all game (including when their player was wrongly sent off). "We only need 10 men" they sung as the Sutton fans listened in silence.
Even before the game started Dover fans out sung us in the club bar - embarrassing.
Dover deserve to win and their fans earned the victory

I tell you it drives me mad when this same old topic comes up for discussion. It's getting old boring and pathetic. A large number of fans sing their socks off week in week out. Some of us shout so much we loose our voices. We endeavour to be the 12th man. Instead of moaning about it. Try joining in instead....
bore off....

I think there is a perception among supporters of other clubs that a few of the Sutton faithful would be more at home at a regatta. You see it in this forum. The few with a superior "holier than thou" attitude.Falling over themselves to correct others even stooping so low as to correct people's grammar/spelling. The few who know everything and are never wrong. This from a pillock who can rarely be arsed to watch the whole game!

Dover deserve to win and their fans earned the victory That's an exaggeration as I heard Sutton fans making noise throughout. It wasn't always loud or even positive, true, but silence? No. I agree that the Dover fans outsung us, but that isn't what we're competing for. Not that it can be measured anyway so it's a bit silly to compare it. Loudness depends on where you are relative to the sound's source. The competition is which football team can score more goals. Simple really. Yeah, I would have liked us to make more noise and personally I could have made more of an effort but I know I did try so I find the criticism a bit rude since I'm not paid or contracted to make that effort. Football fans always have to have a scapegoat when things go wrong, don't they? I've always thought that was stupid and pointless (or worse as it can have negative effects). Why can't we just accept that it wasn't our day and think forward to how we can do better in future? And singing in the bar helps the team perform - how? It's just bad manners to sing in an indoor bar where people are trying to have a drink. I didn't have a problem with Dover fans but I wouldn't do that.

At what point/age do you stop wearing ludicrous replica shirts, stop singing silly songs and sit in the stand around the halfway line so you can get a better view of whats's going on ? I would say 14 years old tops...........
How can you see what's happening if you take up a position behind the goal ?
