A tight game, as the scoreline suggests. As on Saturday, the better chances came in the second half. It was great to see Jason Henry score his first competitive goal for the first team - it's been coming for a while now! He was allowed space to turn in a low free kick - although there were some protests from Dover over that (I'm not sure why). Apart from Jason, this was another impressive performance from the same youthful back four who'd played at Dover. Craig Tanner had a terrific game, clearing what looked a certain equaliser off the line. Phil also made several good saves. Forest Green will be a lot tougher - but at least we're through, and Ernie has seen his first win as Sutton manager.

We are through and kept a clean sheet for the first time this Eastleigh, Jason got his first goal, I think the protests were due to him ceasing on the losse ball with foot quite high but fair in my book. At the back we fought really well to keep Dover out PW against outstanding, not fantastic going forward but with players to come back in and unbeaten in 3 games we must have some cause for hope?

My goodness we were lucky though, two saves on the line from Craig Tanner but bith sides had good chances, some great saves from Phil again and one from their keeper in the first half (Nicky Grene shot).
They'll rightly feel very unlucky not to have got a goal and I was very, very surprised that the ref didn't give a free kick for Bash's high foot knock down to Jason for our goal, the defender could've tasted Bash's studs!
As for the Kingstonian lot, thanks for the gate money, don't come back! What an embarrassment to society they are.

TBH, I really don't care where Bash's foot was. About time we got a bloody break! Good finish from JH though. We were hanging on at the end somewhat, but got the result. Thats all that matters. Just wish it had been for 3pts and not 3 grand!

Think it could be 3 points this Saturday, still a long way to go but for the first time in a long time, I feel we could get a result on Saturday, and i've not thought that in a long time

Just wish it had been for 3pts and not 3 grand! Three grand could go a long way to getting three points though Taz Glad to hear we won. Missed my first game of the season due to a prior appointment with Bill Bailey at the Brighton Centre who decided to mark the occasion by nearly running over my foot on his segway trouser press contraptions

Well despite all the doubters we did get through! Dover were a much better team than when i last saw them but there was still a small difference and we were the better team for most of the match although at the end we were desperately hanging on. They will undoubtedly get the promotion they deserve and hopefully we will stay up. There is a good spirit developing and despite my early reservations about the appointment of EH iv'e of the opinion he may well be the man for the job.

It certainly wasn't a classic last night, but job done, we're through to the next round and - more importantly - unbeaten in 3 games. Let's hope we can extend that run to at least 6 games now, especially with Dundas to come back into the squad for Saturday
Well done to Jason for finally getting his goal as well

Have to say that Dover deserved extra time last night. Not sure whether we retreated at the end due to their pressure or our nervousness! Any neutral who came into the ground 15 minutes from time would have thought we were the Ryman team hanging on for the win. We obviously still desperately need another striker, but there are players to come back and we look much more determined now.
Lovely typo in last night's prog (Ernie's column), by the way - "Attitude and committeemen have to be spot on" ;D .
