We have Dan Spence ready to return so we do have a natural replacement. One could argue for a left back role that Wish has been a replacement for Spence - the latter is stronger than the former at doing that role but Wish is a lot better in pushing forward, sometimes as an out and out winger! One could argue that but I'd say Wishart has made himself 1st choice when both have been available. I'd also say whilst he has been excellent going forward I don't think it has been to the detriment of his defensive side at all. If Spence can perform to anything like his level then great. He hasn't let us down before.

There's 3 fixtures that directly concern us tomorrow aside from our own, and only 1 of the current top 5 play at home Concord (6) V Gosport (7) Stortford (10) v Maidstone (3) Truro (4) v Ebbsfleet (5) The numbers are their current position in the form table over the last 6 games. (in case of interest we're playing the team 17th in the form guide) It's the last one of those games that is the most interesting - Truro have shot up out of nowhere, scoring for fun it seems against the league leaders who have been grinding out results. These two met just over a month ago, and they cancelled each other out. Interesting, thanks for the analysis

Well, it was another game where the quality of the play was dictated by the weather. A very boggy pitch with patches of standing water throughout.
I thought the lads played well and even managed to use the ball intelligently in the circumstances.
Tom's goal was a beauty. Taking a ball in and driving in an angled rasping shot into the bottom corner. Lovely stuff!
Into the second half and the second had a hint of fortune to it. The ball stopped dead in a patch of standing water in the build up, the ball was cleared from the box at the first attempt by the home side, only for Fitch to put the second cross into the top corner.
What came next was unbelievable. The first was a quality finish into the bottom corner when our defence failed to clear. The second, was one of the most crazy things I have ever seen on a football pitch. The goalkeeper smashed a hopeful ball forward, it bounced and went straight over Ross's diving body into the top corner. The freak goal of all freak goals!
Still, I thought Sutton were the better team throughout, which means little in the results business. That's how it goes.. But very, very frustrating!

I am sure MarkF will have something to say about the pitch, IMO it was never playable. The ball did not roll in many areas of the pitch, seriously affected the game, and it was a dangerous surface with standing water. The decision for Hemel not to attend to the pitch at halftime nearly ended up being detrimental to themselves. I can only imagine they wanted the game to be abandoned as they were losing?
A point away at Hemel is always acceptable, its just a shame on the circumstances. On 89mins you should not be giving a 2-0 lead away, so questions about the 1st before we got to the fluke equalizer. The terrible thing about that goal was it was another mistaken over hit long ball by a keeper who never got to grips with the conditions all afternoon.
Very similar to last Saturday a ball hit long in that area was allowed to skip through, last week it was a pen and this time it flew up off the surface, but plenty of time for a defender to get across. Our 2 goals both well taken, with the 2nd somewhat helped by the ball sticking in the mud.
Still the unbeaten run goes on..
