Gutted to have a well earned, hard thought victory snatched from us with a freak 90 yard injury time equaliser, great shift put in from the team.... Didn't think Hemel deserved anything from the game but I thought the pitch was playable ... Same for both teams no one looked likely to get hurt ... 2 points dropped .. Let's go beat Margate next week .. Come on you u's!!!

So frustrated and gutted to have not come away with three points this afternoon (I've still not seen us win at Hemel as missed the win there last season.). Felt we were so superior to HH, that's both league games this season where they've robbed us of maximum points (shouldn't have got anything at ours either!).
Thought the whole team played well today with two fantastic finishes from Bolarinwa and Fitchett. As has been said the conditions were bordering on unplayable - other referees may well have abandoned the game, but I guess we can say it's another game chalked off rather than having to reschedule later on in the season.
The lad Ryan Burge who is currently training with us at the moment featured in the warm-up and sat with some of the Sutton fans in the first half so we can probably suspect he's signed for us.

In the cold light of day, an away point against a mid-table side isn't a bad result and keeps us very much in contention for second or third place. Obviously to draw 2-2 after leading 2-0 with a few minutes to go is very disappointing, but the result wasn't a total travesty. We had been the better side for most of the game, but Hemel did start to exert some pressure in the final ten minutes and hit the post shortly before their first goal, which was a decent strike. The equalising goal was a freak, but sometimes these things happen in football. It's a reminder to those of us who think we can overhaul Ebbsfleet that however well we play, and however good our form, there will sometimes be an element of luck about our results.
As for the pitch - yes, it was barely playable, but that was the case for both teams. And it did play a huge part in our second goal. I don't think any of us would be complaining about the conditions if we'd held on for the win. We've got an awkward away fixture behind us and come away with a point. Let's move on.

So many pitches yesterday were quite frankly a disgrace, the pitch at Bishops Stortford sounded pretty similar to the one at Hemel, although our manager wanted the game to go ahead purely as he didn't fancy another midweek trip.
The pitch saved Bishops Stortford a couple of times when our forward rounded the goalie only to try and roll the ball across the line through half a foot of mud.
It was the same for both sides and a cross from BS stopped dead in the goalmouth rather than reach the unmarked player waiting for the tap in on the back post.
Whilst I agree it was the same for both sides it does prove to be a "leveller"
March is going to be a massive month, we (Maidstone) have 7 games in total and some tough ones at that.....it is going to the wire!

Firstly, I am no longer qualified as a ref as I did not register for this season. Secondly, as I only did Sunday's I anm not qualified to do a pitch assessment at NLS level.
Had Jamie Butler and his mates got their wish, we would never have seen his freak goal and the HH 'keeper would not have received the adulation after the match. Certainly, his performance as a keeper left much to be desired. He will have been disappointed with being beaten by Tom B's shot, although it was a powerful strike (not slotted in as the nlp report suggests). He gave away a cheap corner, struggled to kick into the wind and carried the ball out of his penatly area.
In the end though, U's were a few minutes away from another victory that across the 90 mins would have been deserved. Yes, Fitch's goal was helped by the pitch but he didn't score directly from the ball holding up as it needed a cross fom the right to set him up.
HH rarely bothered U's until the last ten or so but they did rack up the pressure and probably deserved their first goal if not that freak second. Still, they have a habit of clawing back a two goal deficit against us but normally courtesy of a dodgy pen decision not a 90 yard drop kick. It was a monumental clearance but the luck came with the bounce flying into the top corner.
Well done to the ref for not pandering to HH's childish attempts to abandon the match. They after all opted which way to kick, it is their pitch, no groundstaff attempting to disperse the water and I for one did not fancy travelling their for a third time this season.
We will take the point with a heavy heart, knowing that over the four matches against them this season, U's are the better team.

From the SUFCTV footage the last goal was a monster kick and the bounce gave Worner no chance

2 days on and I still feel like we've been robbed. This was a game dominated by terrible weather conditions and as expected a bloody awful pitch.
Whilst on other occasions we probably rightly bemoan letting a 2-0 slip through our fingers, we couldn't legislate for that equaliser. Hemel had all their luck in one moment there in a game where over the 90mins they shouldn't have been anywhere near getting something out of the game. They celebrated like it was their cup final, which is a huge compliment for us. Such a shame as at half time we were in a much stronger position, but then games are not 45min long.
All the teams below us from Hemel up play midweek, and although we won't be overtaken by any of them, I expect our cushion to be a bit thinner by the time we play top of the form table Margate on Saturday.

They celebrated like it was their cup final, which is a huge compliment for us. Never really understood comments like this. We'd be going pretty ape if we had secured a point after being 2 down on the verge of injury time. It will feel like a win to them as it felt like a loss to us. Fair play to them on an unlikely point. Though I'm waiting for us to get an unlikely victory/point when we have been battered . . . seems to have been many the other way over the last couple of seasons!

Posing for a team line up shot like cup winners do, but without a cup is celebrating like they won a cup final. Which is exactly what they did after the game. There's a difference between "going ape" as you put it, and literally parading like they've won a trophy. In the times that we've had that (like a couple of times against Wealdstone I recall) it's never gone to that, albeit the celebrations were pretty energetic.
