And you played him in Flipping midfield.
Genius.
Besides, as has been covered before the overweight, lumbering, Heskey-esque player called Craig Dundas we remembered was not the hulking juggernaut goalscoring demon of a man who actually turned up!

The team yesterday is only going in one direction. It certainly backs up my point to Rob & co early in the season about our reserves not being ready for CS, especially when there are so many of them in the team all at once. Individually, they did fine but collectively they need support from the others & in most of the others just aren't or can't do it.
Once again CD was outstanding but like a pedigree horse, you shouldn't flog him to death & playing on his own up front must surely be pissing him off as well as knackering him out?
As for Fisher, what is the point? I can't see where the 235 gate was & the announcer was a cretin - he might as well as been speaking an obscure dialect of ancient Peruvian. If he was trying to add to the atmosphere that Champion Hill brings these days, all he did was make it a laughing stock. Still, they were impressive going forward, far too quick for us & the ref's performance had nothing to do with the defeat we were generally second best in all depts, save CD.
As I have been saying for some months now, I see only one outcome unless we get some decent new players in NOW!

I know EH is looking for the players with the right attitude and struggling to find people with enough want and commitment but it's getting a bit of a desperate situation and maybe he needs to change tack a little and hope that a player with the ability we're looking for will muck in like the rest of the squad .

Any reason behind the language of a Sutton pikey, Nick? Other than the obvious?
And you are wrong, Dundo played upfront for 80%+ of his time at CA, Dave Garland decided he should play just behind the front two to accommodate the lethal strike force that is Luke Fontana. Hang on, there must be some mistake...

Let's not forget that it must be very difficult to 'tempt' a quality player to Sutton at the moment, effectively we're after decent players that want to take a backwards step in their careers and join a relegation-threatened club sat at the foot of the table.

I think you are both right but I agree with Millsy. Even with good money they will think twice about his 'step back'. Only silly money would get them now and that would be a drastic financial mistake. Perhaps short loans for silly money would be better.

Wasn`t at the game so feel it inappropriate to comment. However , having read the comments on here and also the match report I have to agree with the question of "formation" if only from the point of, it`s a big ask of one player who will get frustrated by having very little opportunity along with the fact that the players who are supporting him are playing far too wide. Not to mention he stands a greater chance of injury. CD has given us a chance and so far he`s been outstanding to say the very least. Future oppo will look and think we`re a soft touch anyway and the only worry for them is Dundas and when they spot he`s a lone striker.........`Appy dayze. I fully understand that not conceding goals is a priority but if we dont put the ball in the net at the other end we`re wasting our time. CD, as good as he has been for us cannot do it on his own......he needs support. As for new players..........Think "Amberay" has it about right.

Sad to read these pages, but Mark F, I think "Rob & co" going on about reserve team players were more the ones that have left and got 30 games plus Ryman football under their belts! Pehaps someone should get in contact? You never know.

They were but they were making a general point about the youngsters not getting a chance. They are now, but as said at the time, it's too much to ask of them when the team is struggling like it is & Saturday certainly proved that point. They are for the future. I have been impressed with them individually, Dean Sammut is an excellent tackler, Harry O doesn't stop running, but we need experience to help them along and there is not enough of that in the current side.
As for those in the Ryman Sth, Leatherhead & Croydon Ath, where a number of the lads are currently playing, are hardly setting that division alight. Which kind of proves my point.
You need a mix of both young & "old" & SUFC does not have that at the moment.

You'll also see that the common theme is that aside from Scooby, Dundas, Bash and Ug there is a need for better players to help the youngsters out. Especially as Scooby and Honey were missing on Saturday. It's just a recognition that the current circumstances will be tough for the youngsters, not a criticism.

Cheers Millsy, good to see someone able to reason what were balanced comments made by yours truly.
Do some of these guys not realise that some of us have been watching NL football & SUFC in particular for eons? And therefore have experienced situations like this before.

Just noticed that Andre McCollin got all 4 for Fisher!! He used toplay for Chessington United (Mole Valley Predators) in the CCL. Raynes Park Vale wanted to sign him 4 years ago but couldn't afford him I remember tipping John Rains off about him!
